Custom Dats causing game to crash

Anyone that has custom Dats...

Anyone else crash when a custom comes on the screen?

I have been told that they did something that won't allow the Differant custom dats....

Yep, Just talked to a GM about it, No more custom Dats -.-;; Crapshit ... I was using the ffxiatlas maps too ;_;

I don't know about that, I logged in just after maint was done and my chara was WEARING custom dat stuff, though admittedly I've never edited my Map images. I heard that the game will crash now if any dats are missing though. Something slip through the crack somewhere on your compy? Otherwise, I think you're in a rare occurance, I certainly can still play the game with my customs intact.

hmmm youknow... now that you mention it... i WAS missing one i think... as i was going thorugh reverting... i noticed in one of the folders i only had the backup file... not the replaced... so in effect i had 58.bak and not 58... i wonder.

My custom dats work fine. They changed it so if you remove a DAT it crashes. This was to prevent easier Fafnir camping (remove the flies so only Fafnir shows).

Hmm I just did a scan, and found 4 corrupted files,
ROM\17\27.dat
ROM\17\30.dat
ROM\18\110.dat
ROM\18\70.dat

can anyone give me those 4 files only? So I dont have to reinstall ffxi >_<

my wife and I use custom dat files for her BLM af for her mithra and everythin seems to work fine /shrug

custom .dats work fine, quit scaring people, you can still change them to!!! but if it finds .dats missing, THEN it will crash.

distance plugin on windower causes it to crash now too and TP plugin doesn't work, as a side note

but custom .dats work, i'm using them right now!

Just tested:

Ran around with custom .dat with edited skin: No crash
Ran around with custom .dat with edited skin and mesh: No crash
Zoned: No crash
Logged in: No crash
Summoned custom avatar: Ditto
Watched someone else summon custom avatar: Yay!

Near as I can tell, the edited .dats will not crash your game. Oh, and Shiva looks sweet in game, if I do say so myself. /em toots her own horn.

same.. i had 1 file missing in a sequential set and got nothing but crashes. replaced it and everything was fine.
whatever check they do doesnt care if you have extra files in that folder or what size they are either.. just if theres something missing

I heard the same thing. missing dat is used for claiming many h/nm not too surprised myself.
