Custom Dats causing game to crash

You know if your having a problom with your FFXI .dat files you can allways reinstall your FFXI but you know that alot of work. I not even having any problem with my FIX .dat files.

You know you don't have to reinstall. Like a person here had already mentioned POL program before signing in, there is a list of options. One of the choices is to Check Files this will check for corrupted or missing files. It should also go through whatever process it needs to restore those bad files, easier and faster then reinstalling the whole thing I think.

Ill have it installed before I head to work, then just let it update while I'm at work ^^. Besides, My FFXI folder is full of a bunch of crap anyways, it will be nice to reDL the windower and shit too. Now to find a list of the plugins that WORK -.-;; I miss that TP one.

There is a faster way on doing this. First find the bad .dat file on FFXI where you have in install. IT will take some time if you dont know what your doing. But find the bad files that in FFXI, After you find your Bad file then copy the same file name from your FFXI CD. Have it overwrite from the CD that your copying it to FFXI files. That should fix the bad file. I not sure if it will work but i havent have any problems with it yet unless i missing something.

The File Check will only tell you what files are corrupt (missing), it will not reinstall them.

I had the game crash several times tonight but not because of mod dats, but missing dats.

But even after replacing several dates of ROM 52-52 it keeps coming up as a corrupt file, which leads me to beleive the check file is incorrect. If someone could post the current created date and size for ROM 52-52 it would be appreciated.

probably not your problem. you need to not be MISSING any .dats. it doesnt care overmuch about corrupted ones.

there seems to be a problem from file checker, I have a backup from Apr/13/2004 and that 52-52 didn't work. which it was exactly same one that I already had. Ayi is having a friend send the file he has later. Maybe it will check ok. But it seems they made a slight problem with it ^^. Because I did file check aobut 2 weeks ago, and its saying its a problem for me to

Someone on Allakha talked to a CS rep ... they said that they characters who are stuck in the zone because of this will not be able to log in, the GM's can not move you because you are midzone and trying will cause them to become stuck also. So ... asll we can do is wait it out ... damnit!!!! ...
