Re: DAT Mod File Collection

The .DAT Collection has been updated yet again.

And it was a large update this time-- Larger than usual!

So much that now the .DAT's filesize currently stands around 111 MB. (I think
it increased by 25+ MB or so. I'm sorry, I didn't keep count.)

As usual, you know what to do to get it.

And you know what both links do, so I shouldn't have to say it.

I made sure to give credit where credit was due, and to thank all those in their
continued support of modding, creating, and submitting .DATs.

This will also give the artists a bit of a fame boost, as their work becomes
distributed further through me. These are some very talented people.

In any case, enjoy.

(I'm uploading as we speak. The Collection should be done uploading by 8:10 A.M. PST,
so try to get it around AFTER that time.)

Re: DAT Mod File Collection

You need to adjust the name length of the original folder- It caused something like 20 file path length errors when I was trying to unpack it, including my katanas.

Re: DAT Mod File Collection

Oh yeah just remembered something I wanted to ask - Devi do you already have a/the mod for Hume F that gives the beastmaster af just horns on the head? If you don't I have it I just got to remember what file it is.

As for my armor set - I got the pieces picked out and a good idea how to text it - just trying to figure out the best way to go about editing the model to get it to look the way I need (IE making the boots the right length and adjusting parts of the thf af body)

Re: DAT Mod File Collection

wow i'm in the title! <3

anyway, unsure why youd be getting nonstandard characters in filenames. I'm installing the update now and will see what I can figure out.

also if you get the Too long filename error in winrar its because the total file path must be less than 260 characters. Try extracting to something with a shorter path such as c:\dat

Re: DAT Mod File Collection

I'm just sitting here hoping for the collection to become complete sometime

It's not like I can't download it a lot, I just prefer to be lazy. But I get this typical AH feeling of, if I don't get it now, maybe it will disappear!

Here's for hoping it stays around some more months with updates!

Sorry about that, Stromgarde. But yeah. Try what Nicolette said. That most likely
is the situation.

Selenity, I have just the headgear. Been looking for the horns, but can't find 'em.

And the only reason why I'd think there'd be "squares" in the file name is because
some files require Japanese Language Support to show their name properly.

But...

That doesn't mean the file's useless. You can still use it.

Correct , In order to view the fiels in their native tongue you need to have some JP support on your machine, that allows you to see the characters correctly.

It'll never happen since .Dat modding is quite popular and people like myself, devi, strom, starvign artist and others do it all the time. The best you can do is try to get the latest updates when available or ask for them to PM you individual files. I do it soemtiems if I have the time.

Re: DAT Mod File Collection

That's not really a very good soultion. I mean, the root folder is around 30 characters long, as are all of my katanas (I don't know why they got renamed, either). As it stands, I can't even extract it to My Documents without throwing an error.

Exclamation Re: DAT Mod File Collection

My apologies, Stromgarde.

Didn't really take in the length of the filename into consideration.

I'll switch it around and re-upload it when I can.

However, to counter-act this, and stop this, try extraction programs such as

7-Zip - http://www.7-zip.org

Power Archiver - http://www.powerarchiver.com/

What these programs will allow you to go is take a .ZIP, .LZH, .RAR, .7Z, .ACE, etc
or any other files like that and go inside them without actually zipping them, and
rename / extract the inner files.

I hope that'll help out for now.
