Rendering Problem

I have the English FFXI Model Viewer, 3D Studio Max7, and Metasequoia (Freeware). I'm kinda bummed that 3DSM7 can't important crap. Is there no other way around this? Do I have to find some lower version of 3DS? :depress:

Oookay. So I've got it all as good as gravy. Got the models imported fine...but in regards to getting a nice light background and soft sunlight like yours...I can't get anywhere near it, or find a tutorial on how to do so. And everything I try ends up with my characters either being too washed out or covered too deep in shadow that you can't even see them.

Would you mind explaining how you render? Pleeeease? ;_; (Preferably on how to create the sky, the floor and what type of light to use)
