Here's what I've figured out so far:

-Your computer must NOT re-encode the names of the .lst files into non Unicode format
-You need to set your computer's "Default Language for non-Unicode programs" to Japanese
-You need to put all of the files into the /FINAL FANTASY XI/ folder
-The controls are as follows:

Space/F4 = Reset model position
D = Face model left
A = Face model right
S = Face model forward
Drag left mouse = Pan camera
Drag right mouse = Rotate camera
Drag both = Zoom camera

I am working on the program and its docs into English.

It has all the files but it's only 672kb instead of the 800 estya has.

Guys, even though I'm still in the middle of translating, so not much is done, I feel it necessary to put this online. It is a copy of the main .exe in English. Not much is translated, just some resource work has been done. More to come soon. I just found out about this yesterday, but I am translating pretty quickly.

Also, allow me to HIGHLY recommend changing your "non-Unicode program language" to Japanese. It is very helpful and it gets rid of the malencoded gibberish.

P.S. Make sure you save it into your FFXI directory, or it will crash when it opens. ^^

I got it working ^^ I just had to move all the files to /finalfantasy11 folder. Before I moved the folder that had the viewer in it, so this time I moved the stuff in there and it worked

Okay, so i just move the entire folder with the model viewer files in it to my FFXI folder with that ROM folder in it? I tried that and i tried to open the .exe and i got this japanese error message. I'm stuck! >_<

should (re)download it... it works for me just fine hehe.. just put it in my POL folder it works fine

Huh? I can't even open the godammed program, i try to open it up and it gives me this error, then it says 'we're sorry blah blah blah it must shut down'. Argh.

No. What you need to end up with is this:

C:/blah blah/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/List/
C:/blah blah/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/FFXImodelviewer.exe
C:/blah blah/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/Backup/

etc. NOT this:

C:/blah blah/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/FFXImodelviewer/FFXImodelviewer.exe

What that means is that your computer tried to re-encode the names of the .lst files into English (and failed of course) so when the program tries to load them up, it can't find the original Japanese named ones it's looking for. If, in your /List/ folder, the file names are all wierd looking (non-Japanese) symbols, then this is what happened.

I'd suggest getting somebody you know to send you the /List/ folder via AIM or something. It is probably a mistake in the compression program, so have them, for safety, send it as an uncompressed folder.
