IMO Elvaans with WAR as a sub makes the best DRK's

You want a pld/war, and you're on the wrong board :p

Unless you consider the cannon to be part of the tank, but most people here don't.

OMG Awntawn is god, heh heh, hes right.
Dark Knights are nuclear explosions, we got tons of ATT but horrible defence, you should try utilizing the ATT as much as possible w/ your sub job, rather than focusing on making it a balanced job, that just robs the DRK of its potential.

DRK/WAR is strongest although I am think that DRK/SAM might have some advantages. DRK/THF WAS good but due to version ups it is substantially weakened, from what i hear, anyhow, you'll want to start off as WAR, lv it to 30 just to get DRK and then sub WAR for DRK and your set until lv60.

Any other combinations, in my opinion, would have no advantage, although some might say WHM sub is useful for when you get tractor at lv32, but i think thats bull because, yet again, you are not utilizing the STR of DRK w/ your sub job.

Hmmm... If you were a DRK/RDM you could use your limited MP on Def buffs and enchant weapon buffs...

It was changed so that things like Backstab and Decieving attack extra damage was calculated by the level of the actual thief(which beaing a subjob would be half or less than that of your main) instead of the extra damage being calculated by your main job's level.

FYi if you dont know what sneak attack and backstab are:

Sneak Attack THF lv15 ability: allows you to deal critical blow when you are behind the target

Back stab THF lv35? abilty: allows you to deal critical blow when you are behind your teammates

So thats what they changed >< Seeing thfs bust 100+ damage when they PT with me, I wish i coulda seen how crazy the DRKs subing thf woulda done before they changed it ><
