ive played previouse mmo's and tanks are usually the warrior based classes/jobs that have a sword and shield and knowing a DRK uses sythes and great swords can they tank?

A suggestion:

One thread for all of your questions. PLEASE.

Beyond the very low levels, and maybe some rare exceptions much later on, DRK doesn't tank. DRK doesn't usually carry around gear for tanking, and many of its job abilites lower defense.

Can tank? If geared so, yes, at least at the lower levels.

That said, most people do not play DRK to tank, and so wouldn't have the gears for it.

On that note i think SE should offer some more End game gears for DRK to be a pausible tank, They have real good hate grabbing ability. Maybe lower the recast of drain, drain 2, Dread Spikes to reasonable numbers for them to se more often.
