I wouldn't expect that you would be using it during fights anyway. Just do what Dak suggested. However, it is a very handy item to have for a quick little boost to MP. Don't use full-time, use it when you can actually trigger the latent and the extra MP would be useful. It's cheap and easy to get, and great for soloing (especially when /RDM.)
