Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
I have enough money to get one of these armors, but am unsure about which one to get.

I know that technically, the Huaberk+1's lesser stat penalty makes it the better choice, however, considering the money investment I am making the broader lvl range and jobs that can use the Haubergeon+1 does have nice appeal; especialy since I still do bcnm60s.

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
You already answered your question in that case. Hauberk +1 is nice, but you can't wear it in a BCNM60.

Plus, it's not like you evade much anyway, so -20, -10, whatever, right?

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
Yea you basically answered it yourself and most of the people I know with +1 versions have enough for both anyway for capped events but if you cant afford both get the one you can wear to capped events, unless your mates have one you can borrow. As far as the other stats go -5agi and -10evasion over the Hauberk+1 its not like they matter much as a drk anyway.

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
Haubergeon+1, tbh there is no reason to buy the hauberk when campared to a Haubergeon, unless all you do is uncaped stuff on war/drk/bst and will never play another melee job, and even if that is true there is no real offencive bonus too it and the evasion- and agi- only matters if you have a crapy tank.

EDIT: Also unless you have all the other luxury items for drk there is no reason to get a hauby+1 the NQ is fine as it is, on fairy you could get a hauby(4mil), peacock charm(8mil), 2 snipers(3mil total), assault earing(1mil), Amemet Mantle+1(1.5mil), bomb core(900k), potent belt(2mil) and enough gil left over to buy sushi for a lifetime for the price of a hauby+1(20-35mil).

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
One thing Hauberk is far better than Haubergeon at;

IT LOOKS ARGUABLY NICER AND SEXIER.

Sorry, NVM....

From a player who can't sell his Hauberk to get the money for Haubergeon as it has one of his friends' name as crafter on it, and that friend is no longer playing.

I should've asked him to make Haubergeon, not Hauberk... But I know I'll keep using this Harberk until I quit.

Yea the Hauberk looks alot nicer, especially on mithra as it doesnt have those long dangly bits like the haubergeon does.

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
Personally I would go Haubergeon +1, but for different reasons probably.

I'm also leveling WAR, SAM, and possibly BST into this range, and I have a number of LS members who are in the 60's range wanting to do Assaults. SAM can't use the Hauberk, so having that Hauby +1, I'd get quite a bit of milage out of it.

For DRK ONRY usage? BCNM60's, Lv.60 cap Assaults, more available jobs, makes that Hauby +1 is real attractive. Personally I already have a Hauby, I plan to take WAR and SAM Lv.70+ along with DRK, maybe some day BST. So that's 3 out of 4 jobs who can use a Hauberk.

Hauberk +1 is ~20M on Lakshmi. With 20M I you could buy a Hauby, Hauberk, and most other items you'd need for DRK to Lv.75. (I spent 350k and bought all NQ Scythe's I'd need to Lv.75, except the Havoc Scythe.) Depending on how well you raise funds, you may want to consider that. Or if you can raise 5~10M pretty quick, buy the Hauby +1 now, and then start raising gil from the Hauberk +1.

Now that I've put more thought into it, I'd probably go Hauberk +1, until I could get my hands on an Adaman Hauberk, but for you sounds like you already answered your own question. Hauby +1 4TW!

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
Thanks for the input. Honestly, this wasn't so much a question as it was a "need validation for my decision".

Although, now I'm considering just to swap my Hauberk for a NQ Haubergeon and investing my money into something else. Mabey get some more of the black armor made up; been eyeing the helm for a bit now.

You know, I always like the Haubergeon's looks better more then the Hauberk. The black is nicer, but I like the Haubergeon's spiker shoulders and skull belt buckle.

I'd go for Hauby. Since you seem to want to level other jobs.

However, if that wasn't the case, then the Hauberk +1. This should tide you over until you can get an E. Abjuration to upgrade to that sexy adaman/armada (I think there was a DRK on Titan or another server that posts on KI a lot who finally got the full set of Armada which blows my mind)

Haubergeon+1. Nothing more needs to be said, unless you have a 75 BST as well. But even then an Osode is situationally better.

Re: Hauberk+1 or Haubergeon+1
Also if you're planning to level war/sam/nin up, having haubergeon is better, you can wear it sooner.

I agree Hauberk looks better tho. I think the dark color looks even better than adaman's bright blue...
