After the update i went outside jeuno killing some tigers. I was shocked, my max dmg usually was 276 everytime i critical But i scored 300 even !!! I believe my dmg per swing was increased too. I notice most of my attacks were in 200+ stat so far Hume Lv 75 Str 70+20 Also when i did spin on goobbues i usually do 1276 But when i went back to farm, i did 1416 But all these were worthless mobs so not sure how the dmg is compared to tough - incredibly tough +++ mobs. :spin: |

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but if any DRKs are still interested in this topic, there is a more thorough discussion of it (oddly enough) in the Paladin forums, found here. For people interested in the actual function used to determine the WS Damage, Imac2much has gone through and translated the calculations. It's a bit complicated, but it seems to make a lot of sense. It also makes it fairly clear the secondary stats are only one factor in the weaponskill damage.

lvl 75 and you dont know enough on Drk? 1.3 mil imo is good for balins, I bought mine at 1.7.. and it's now at 1.2-1.3 also. Str always affects WS damage. However for Exping, having more +attack then +str is better. On hard things like HNM's +attack hardly means anything and is near useless. Str does show an impact on Spinslash damage or Spiral hell of course. At lvl 74 I have 64 +41 str with food.. 36 without, and you can see a difference.

It's pretty cheap to create a macro which swaps Acc/Att for STR. Some things to consider: Spike Necklace (STR+3) Royal Knight's Belt/Warwolf Belt (STR+2/5) Sun/Ruby Rings/Fire Rings (STR+3/4/5) Enkelados's/Pallas/Alkyoneus's Bracelets (STR+7/9/11) AF Helm (STR+4) You can swap as many as 6 pieces of equip. Just try your best to swap gear in such a way that it doesn't lower your attack at the same time. I only have STR+33 on WS atm, that'll go up a bit when I hit 72 and have access to better rings and when the price on Warwolf falls to where it belongs. But the key is that when I switch between my STR gear and my Accuracy gear, my Attack stays exactly the same. Basically, you're shooting for adding 2 points of STR for each point of Attack you remove, or you risk losing DMG to the mob's defense. |
