Yeah i realized that after i wrote it. I find it a little bit silly to sub ninja just for shadows, especially when Ill have cocoon and autorefresh from FoV. That along with drain samba (or whatever its called) and the curing waltz, I don't see myself using /nin much at all for solo.

I did the same thing with /BLU btw.. I heard that /nin was awesome at 24 so i did it and all i got was the 3 shadows. I will admitt that if you are playing with the intension of doing extreme burts of damage and killing things very quickly, then you can avoid taking almost any damage at all, however I was still resting to get all my MP back, so getting hit wouldnt have been a big deal. I have ended up using /RDM more on BLU now for protect and shell, along with dia and an MP boost along with fast cast.

Its all up to you, but some jobs do have sub jobs that best support that job. As you get higher level in dancer, you will be able to acquire gear to speed up your dual wield making it much more helpful. And in a party fighting IT mobs some shadows are probably really helpful. For solo I'm not sure i'll play with /nin much though. Then again i'm only going to 37, i have no iterest in being a dancing healing in any party higher than that lol.

Dual Wield isn't just offhand stats, it's technically also +11% weapon DPS.

Re: DNC/DRG vs. DNC/NIN vs. DNC/SAM vs. DNC/WAR

After level 50 it is hard to beat /NIN DW II trait really speeds things up with Haste Samba in tow and the spell haste the slight increase in delay over single weild is replaced by the ability to have 2 double stat weapons or 1 heavy damage weapon and 1 nice stat weapon. You also get the potential extra hit on multiple hit WS's.

Lastly afer level 70 with a decent ACC/Haste build its hard to beat BK+1/Joyeuse for TP building.

It is also nice to have at lower levels (24+) DNC heals pull a lot of hate. You need to have some type of defense to avoid puting more hate on yourself, or the mage. Not only that but DNC/NIN makes a great dual tank with a NIN. Its basically the same as using a 2x NIN setup to provide basically no down time to a party.

/DRG is really only worth it past 30 due to the haste gear, and the usefull daggers (well 25 is first real useful one). Before that /MNK would do you best.

If you plan on soloing at all you are going to want /NIN its pretty crucial to conserve TP.

Basically if you refuse to use /NIN you give up

@35 +4 ACC +5ATK
@45 +5ACC
@75 Dagger/Joy
Ability to co-tank/full tank
Ability to mitigate damage
~11% Damage increase
and +1 hit on multihit WS's

For a tiny bit of haste, and Jump

The only other sub that is beneficial to DNC past level 50 is SAM @ lvl 60 for meditate/store TP.

DNC/NIN is probably the best set up.

Re: DNC/DRG vs. DNC/NIN vs. DNC/SAM vs. DNC/WAR

Reached DNC25 the other day and got very bored with /NIN. It really wasnt doing anything for me other than the 2nd merc knife that i mentioned earlier.

I switched over to /drg for the attack bonus and jump every couple minutes and I have to say that I enjoyed it much more for solo AND in a party. I landed attacks just as often, and was able to jump for a slight boost in TP. Also I hit harder and it helped me not hit for 0 - which also helped the TP gain.

I can see /drg being useful, especially at 30 but I dont have the money for all the /drg gear so Ill probably try something else at that point.

Experimenting is fun 2 do haha

yea I found DNC/DRG good for sync parties. and DNC/SAM for 60+ uses. I don't solo anyways. :p
