If it's any consolation, I killed the Paladin in my group for being a nutsack about everything we did, and then had our priest loot him.

Edit: The final straw was when I was 'taking' my gold back from a merchant who scammed us, and the Paladin drew his sword and threatened to kill me.

What do you even care? They want to play greedy characters. Let them. Remove yourself from the picture and enjoy the drama.

Armando hit the nail on the head here, and as mentioned earlier, I'm over it. I'll just escuse myself from the picture and grab a beer after each battle and see if there's loot for me when I get back. If there is cool, if not, oh well. If my character feels like he's getting shafted, he'll move on to another party. It's all good. Oh, and by the way, metagaming or not, in order for my character to have this new mindset, he's taken up smoking plant / herb substances from time to time to ease the tension.

Best part of this whole argument? Adam is shipping out to the Navy before our next session. His replacement (Alex) has shown little to no interest in picking up where he left off... so I was going to have to kill off/disband Adam from the party soon anyway.

Mezlo killing him/knocking him unconscious (whether it's moral/ethical/necessery or uncalled-for) actually helped me out by giving me an easy out for Adam's character... as well as some very interesting possibilities for the future.

I not only will not stop this argument... but I whole-heartedly encourage you all to be as passionate about your characters and their opinions in the future. The fact that everyone is as steamed as they are is proof enough to me that you're playing your characters as your alignments suggest you should.

You're all even taking things 1 step beyond the expected and keeping to your alignments OUTSIDE OF GAMEPLAY.

It's more than 1 DM could ever dream for.

I've decided to do a little bit of roleplaying in between sessions here on the forum... however I don't want to start everyone has been made aware of it. Do me a favor and "thank" this post to let me know that you read it and understand it.

In the meantime, while i wait for those "thanks" I'll be constructing a thread as well as a small set of rules and guidelines for forum roleplaying within it. Soon you'll find it stickied near this one and are welcome to post in it provided that you follow the rules.
