The last expansion introduced the signboard as a furniture key item available for gp in each of the guilds. I along with many of my 103+ crafting peers are racing to get one, no one I knows has actually got one yet. It'll be atleast another month of daily gp getting until I get mine.

I can't find any description for what it does besides (lowers break drops-raises lvl-gives crafter a shop)


Does anyone have any more information on these signboards? I want to know what "your own shop" is, what that entails. Also I want to know how many lvls this item can increase the craft and if possible, do the elements of the signboards match up with the elementals of the original furniture key items per craft?

My impression from the Fan Fest interviews and such is that these won't actually do anything re: having your own shop. They're just decorations you can have so that when you invite someone to your mog house they'll think "Oh, hey, a goldsmith."

The fan festival interview is where I saw the description that they (add skill - lessen drops - own shop) so the question still stands.

there are going to be ways to make your own store inside with a signboard that boosts crafting skills as a side effect.

A store in your moghouse? that would be fairly useless since you have to invite people into your mog. A sort of sales bazaar makes more sense to me.

Here is a little info.

I think the Fan Fest thing is just a miscommunication/poor translation again, like so many of the things SE says. From FFXIClopedia's coverage (emphasis mine):

New furniture for guild trading contract quests. New sign boards and flags which, with ability to visit other player's mog houses, will allow players to use mog houses almost as shops for selling goods.

After reading the link I can see that the Signboards probably take the place of the moghnacement key item you get from the other furniture item of guild. Thats not so hot. Also the bonus is still unclear. You get a title of "curiosity shop owner" but I've read nothing on what the "shop" entails besides a possibility of being able to visit others moghouses with it.

I think it would be nice if non signboard holders could visit signboard shops, thats the only way I see this as worthwhile besides the bonus that may be sweet, and hopefully makes up for the loss of +1 from emeralda with another +1 atleast. When I get one Ill necro post it back here unless someone else spills the full beans already.
