when can you cap down other craft skill?

I just got to 60 smith today and passed my guild test to became craftsman. I also have 79 woodworking skill.

I heard that when you pass the skill 60 guild test, you will get a choice to cap down your other skill to 60. But I didn't get such choice when I pass my smith test :O (wanting to cap my wood back down to 60.)

Anyone ever cap down their guild skill this way? Just curious at what skill exactly can you do it?

Once you get Smithing to 81.1, WW will delevel to 78.9, at 90 smithing, 70 WW, etc.

not like that onion. I want to cap it down and keep it blue. not just delevel it. I heard you can do it.

If it doesn't cap blue, I'll lose my smithing skill unwillingly crafting anything above my woodworking skill.

Talk to the guildmaster a few times, he'll chew you out a bit, then offer to delvl your other craftsman+ guilds.

Talk to the guildmaster of the craft you want to keep, not the one you wish to delvl.

oh I see. So far away from bastok now I'll give it a try ^^b thanks.

When I pass my cap 60 the guildmaster said something like "You should concentrate on your craft instead of doing everything all over the place."

Re: when can you cap down other craft skill?

wait wait.. you _LOSE_ levels? O.O

permanently? do you need to skillup again if you want it back? wtf i didnt know of this o.O

i thought once you reached 60 with a craft, all other crafts higher than 60 would just be "capped", not "deleveled"

someone explain

Re: when can you cap down other craft skill?

the skill post 60 will maintain 40 points. So if you have
80 cloth
80 wood
you gain 0.1 wood you'll lose 0.1 cloth.

And you don't get your other craft capped automaticly. Because I just passed my smith 60 test. I'm now 63 smith and my wood is still 79 unaffected.

I was told that I need to talk to the guild master of the skill I want to keep a couple times and he will offer to cap my other skills down to 60 for me. I haven't tried it yet.

Re: when can you cap down other craft skill?

If you opt to cap down your other non-selected skills back down to Journeyman(60), yes, you permanently lose those levels. If you decide to someday bring them back up (potentially at the cost of delevelling a 100 skill), you'll have to earn back the skill points all over again.

Re: when can you cap down other craft skill?

I heard once that if you have more than 1 craft at craftsman+, then skillups for those crafts become worse, anyone know if that's true?

It kinda makes sense, that's why the guild leaders say to concentrate on 1 craft...

Re: when can you cap down other craft skill?

every craft slows down once you hit 50 and it keeps getting slower the higher you are. I don't think it matters how many crafts you have 60+

smith 50-58 was super slow for me. but 58-63 I got very fast skill ups. just some lucky streak I guess.
