Ok, I noticed why I have this discrepency between Fire and Light.

If you look up at the star constellations at night you do actually see Fire to the NW and Light to the NE. However when you look at the stellar map the Tarutaru has in Windurst Waters, the map clearly shows Fire to the NE and Light to the NW. Apparently it's seems to be a small detail on the game that's reversed, I guess now I'll have to see if I can make out the constellations to see if the actually sky has fire and light in the right places or if the stellar map is right.

Anyways just a intresting little tid-bit I found out this morning. Which then leaves the question if direction really does have any effect if people have been using fire facing the wrong way and getting a good result still with it.
