Woodworking Questions

Recently I have been trying to decide whether or not to start woodworking. I've heard that HQ'ing Shihei is a great way to make money(and I could use some too). I've just come up with a few questions.
1. How much gil would it cost me to get up to 60 woodworking if I only sold items to NPC's? (I would also buy supplies from NPC's)
2. How much would it cost to get to 60 if I sold everything on AH?
3. Also, I've heard that putting earth-based furnature in your mog house will give you Mogenhancment: Earth, which increases the probability of succeeding with earth synth's. Is this at all true?
Thanks for any and all advice and answers to my questions. Don't have to answer them all just 1 is good if you know it :sweat:
Of course my first two questions are nearly impossible to answer exactly, so im just looking for a educated guess of a price range. Thanks again

If you were careful, you could go 0-60 Woodworking on a budget of anywhere from 100K to 300K depending on your patience and market conditions. Note that the cost to level woodworking goes way up past 59.

Shihei is a moderate income item - you're not going to get amazingly rich off of it, and even then it's only really profitable at level 80+. If you stop at 60, you're not going to do much better than break even.

Certain pieces of earth based furniture give Moghancement: Earth (i.e. Yellow Jar). This does not affect your success rate; rather, it makes your synths less likely to lose materials when you synth with earth crystals.

Thanks for the info guys, I came up with one more question;
Does using Advanced Synth support lower the chance of skill ups? I've always used it for every synth, even easier ones but I never knew if it makes skilling up any harder. Thanks again

no its doesnt loer ur skill ups cause u have +-- skills it doesnt affect ur skill ups cause the added skills come after ur regular skills

the so called equation goes like this

: revieves skill support: skills = 13+1

synths I.E. Maple Lumber

skills = 13 + .2 + 1

so it is

Base > synth skills > added support

1. If you sold it to NPC it would cost a bunch.
2. Most woodworking recepies are profit synths to lvl up, and they sell fast. I would suggest you have a mule in sando and stockpile all your products and every night put them up for sale. If you do that, you can start with 100kish and still be even if you take your time.
3. I have a bunch of earth base furniture and its very nice. It lowers the chance of losing items when you fail a synth. Since you will use earth crystals alot, i would recoment this.

- Shihei is ok, but depending on your market, its not worth it unless you HQ (around 80 as stated before). Most of your gil will probably come from HQing ash, arrowood, or some other lower level synth. The lvl 16 bolts are a good example, easily HQed at 60.

He's right^ intial craft is free if you can steal.

4 beast coins = bronze ingot
2 bronze ingots + maple lumber = hatchet
