Well I just heard that if you put:

Gain Feed + Wind Crystal in a Ceramic pot, you can get about 20 Millioncorn and if you don't get that, you will get Little worms which are two ingredients for Insect paste. So if you do that, your Insect paste can become really profitable and if you have 10 pots in your mog house or mule's mog house you can get lots at a time. Will take about 4-5 days though.

Gotta consider what Ice just said though. It does make sense if you just not make the items, and just farm those ingredients and sell them seperately. As I see it, a stack of garlic is 3k (from the last time i checked in my server), onions is 5k, and from what my friend said 20k for the meats. If you farm the onions (and since now you only get 6 per synth, so to make a 12 stacks of miths you need x2 of everything), that's 10k for 2 stacks of onions and 40k for 2 stacks of meats, 6k for the onions and (going by what i remember for Fire Crystals), 4k, that's at least 60k worth

But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong if you're in garuda on the prices.

2 stacks from a vendor will run you 1032 gil. but it takes you five days to grow it, yet i can go outside bastok gate, an kill a few quadav get a couple sneak scrolls an make that in under 20 mins. an lil worms are only 49 gil for a stack. hardly worth the 5 days to garden them up.

At the moment I'm making about 15-17k a stack of ingredients (I fail 1/4 at cooking 80) by levelling up on yellow curries, it'd be over 30k if I didn't break, but in a couple more levels that will be the case). When I hit 90 I'll be able to churn out chiefkabobs which sell for 20k a stack on my server which isn't too bad in my opinion. I could probably make over 50k a day easy.

What Ice is talking about is called opportunity cost.

Farming isn't saving you money, farming is earning you money. Why farm/garden for 10k of materials when you can farm/garden for 15k in the same amount of time? If you had to farm to make synthing profitable, why did you spend all of that time and money to level your craft?
