Higher High Quality

i've seen pictures of +2 and +3 items. i know that any items with a blue rim are +2. i know that some items are synthesized in larger numbers instead of higher quality sometimes.

can all items be synthesizes with the equivalent of +2 or +3 or is it just some items?

if it's just some items, what items?

Items with the +2 or +3.. (hmm +3.. >.>)

are upgraded. You don't normally synth them.. you actually use the original item or something similar and create a +1 version. HQ +1 version is a +2.

This is generally for the CP items.

+1 is referred to as HQ or High Quality. It is synthed like any normal way you synth anything else. There is no definite strategy to synth HQ items, but making sure that your skill is much farther than the item you are trying to synth will help. I also heard that synthing on the worst day of the week for that particular element also increases the chance of HQ items. +2 and +3 are synthed in just the same way. And btw, there are +3 items, things like Hi-potion+3 and stuff.

equipment only has normal and HQ vaiations.
the "sort of" exceptions are:
recipes that use conquest items result in normal quality being high quality and high quality being HQ2.
like a synth that uses a combat casters tunic will normally give combat casters tunic+1 and a HQ synth will give combat casters tunic+2
there are a few more items that have a similar upgrade style. Like there is a synth involving kotetsu that will give kotetsu+1 and a HQ kotetsu+1 will be a shinkotetsu.

the other exception is stat rings and element resist earings.
example:
if you use mythril ring + amethyst, normal will be amythest ring and HQ will be deft ring
if you use a mythril ring+1 + amythest, normal will be amythest ring and HQ will be Deft Ring+1
In this case it is like a +2 item but the recipe to make is different.

other things that have HQ2 and HQ3
colored stones almost all have up to 4 different jewels as the result
potions and ethers can have up to a +3 version
desynthing beastman items often has multiple results.
