| Junior Member | 50+ Alchemy Profit
Okay so I recently hit 50+ in alchemy, and I'm wondering if I should take it further... are there any big profit items worth making at high level alchemy? (ie blacksmithing has hauberk, bonecraft has scorp harness, etc) So far it seems like what little profit I can get from alchemy is in HQ combines on items like silent oil, prism powder etc. It's been a very useful skill to have, but not a very profitable one. Any tips? |

I'm at 57 Alchemy mostly what I do is synth to get low level HQ. I also have another recipe that I use for skill up that makes me 2k per synth. I was going to take it to 80 at least for Holy Shields but mana barrells on Midgardsormr sell for 200k and the Holy shield sells for about 230. Add all of the other ingredients in and you break even or lose money. Lol crafting is a joke sometimes. When the ingredients for a good item like that cost more than the finished product, you know something is wrong. Should definately be able to make money on it since a skill 80 item. Hi!, I'm a new alchemist, and have the list of recipes that are included in the player guide book. However searching around online I have found that alchemy seems like the red-headed step child of the crafting guilds. There is a distinct lack of recipes compared to the other crafts. My question to you is do any of you have a link to some recipes or would be willing to share recipes that you have? I would certainly appreciate any assisitance on this note! Thank you in advance! P.S. I found a recipe for creating a saintly ring from an ascetic ring, it is listed as a lvl 0 recipe. I am sceptical about that and wanted to know if any one can confirm that as a level 2 alchemist I might be able to create this item. Again thanks.

Check out Mysterytour they have a great recipe listing (under guilds at the top)

If something has a skill lvl of 0, it usually means that the actual skill lvl needed is unknown. In my experience, even something like a copper ingot, will have a skill lvl of 2, becuase it is often the skill cap that is being listed. And yes, Mysterytour is simply amazing when it comes to finding a recepie, armor, mob list, etc.

If you get HQ of the item at skill 60-70 you'll get some profit... If it's skill 70-80 HQ item, you'll get like 20k profit... If it's skill 80-90 HQ item, you'll get 50k-700k profit depend on what item it is. The HQ of item at skill 90+ always give you 100k+ profit, but don't try to make it until you're skill 99+ and advanced image support. On Siren, I've made some HQ Katana and got a good profit. Mamushito+1 (skill 91) = 150k profit Kokorito+1 (skill 80) = 80k profit Bokuto+1 (skill 42)/Yoto+1 (skill 52) = 20k profit

at 65 now, i keep it simple mostly for profit: beeswax, youll HQ about every combine. a 3k stack of beehive chips turns into a 9k stack of beeswax. can try for HQ oil combines from that but i still dont get them often enough for significant profit vs time. if youre really in a jam for gil you can make tsurara, just about HQ every combine 60+ and sell to vendor and double your money invested. Its slow but you can turn 2500 gil into 5k gil to a vendor with about 4 stacks of combines. I havent really gone for the high profit items yet since i have too much AH stock in HiEthers from skillups atm. |

Would you suggest making things in your Rank or going for something higher? I saw to make Ethers its only a Dried Majoram, Distilled Water, Dryad Root, and two Bat Wings. All those ingredients are rather cheap side for the Dryad Root, im not sure how much that is. But I could get the Wings, Water and Majoram for an excessivly small amount of gil. Bat Wings I could even get for free! So even though my chances of success would be slim to none, why not try and make Ethers at Ameteur Rank if its cheaper than Tsurara. Lack of profit, hell the lack of even breaking even but is it less costly or smarter in the least?

For skillups Ive tried to stick with recipies 5-10 above my current level. Try to find the breakeven to vendor recipie first, then the profit/breakeven at AH recipies, then the minimal loss recipies with cheap combine ingredients. For profit about the only good way to make money with most crafts in a 2 year old game is with HQ sythns. You can make slight profit on some recipies like Hi-Elixer (200g profit each, dont stack, sell slow) but its not a big money thing. |

So if I am an ametuer rank Alchemist is should make Recruit or Initiate rank items and use only the cheapest recipes to try and break even?

Chance for HQ1 increases at 10.1 skill above the trivial mark for the recipe. HQ1 increases again, and HQ2 also increases at 30.1 skill above the trivial mark for the recipe. HQ1 increases a third time, HQ2 increases a second time, and HQ3 increases for the first time at 50.1 skill above the trivial mark. Take that into consideration when deciding when to stop skilling up and when to start making money. |

At what rate do the HQ synth chances increase? Same rate, 1 for 1? If a synth is trivial at 1, at 21.1 is there a 10% chance of HQ synth? |

So just level til my level is high enough to beat out some trivials and perhaps put out some +1 items. Forget about money making til then? I get it now. Thought leveling will be slow I will just carry items so I can synth during down time.
