Blacksmithing Help

I'm just wondering, starting from level 0, how much gil should I save up so I can get my smithing skill up to a point where I can actually earn an income off of it?

I was thinking around 100k, and I'm not going to go farm anything, and I'm expecting to take huge losses for quite a while.
