Noob guild help

Im gunna be getting FFXI in a couple of days and i want to know some basic facts about the guilds , EG what do you make/do and how noob friendly they are, i want to have a guild that i can make some money from eg blacksmith.

not noob friendly at all... you need around 100k gil to start with in order to level up blacksmithing to a profitable level if you buy your ores. If you don't buy you ores you will probably spend around 20k on pickaxes and waste many many many hours mining...
