COR/THF isn't really a worthwhile combination unless you plan to do some farming at level 30 on upward. For PTs it will not do anything for a COR. Will people still invite you? Sure, once you have Evoker's Roll and Dark/Light Shot. People would invite a retarded chimp if it had that. Will people like you for going /THF? No. CORs, at minimum, should have RNG, NIN, DNC and WHM levelled for subjobs. /RNG will help COR get the most out of the gun, NIN will aid COR with pulling at high levels of the game, DNC will allow COR to cure/debuff without needing specialized equipment for it, /WHM is for those who should have levelled BRD instead. Actually, /WHM is decent for low levels and events where people don't want you hitting the mob and prefer you curing and providing additional support instead. Check out my guide,"A Gambler's Life" in my sig or check out Callisto's guide for more info. And if the cost concerns you right now, its probably a sign that you're not ready to take COR on just yet. Once you get to levels 50 on up, the cost starts to rise. If you play in moderation and farm/NM hunt well, this will not be a tremendous issue, but if you're more inclined to grind, grind, grind your hours away in-game, then it may be difficult to progress this job.
