If you're /WHM is underlevelled, there's no reason to use it even when requested. People ask BRDs and CORs to /WHM because it makes them feel safer, not because its more effective. They just think that's what COR's do. They think having 150 MP or less is going to help them in a pinch. It won't. Until you get more MP gear, all that MP is good for is easing things up on the status cure side of things.

You can easily get more MP the higher you go, but the worst COR/WHMs just load up on MP for no good reason in EXP and never think to use Ranged Accuracy or AGI. You can still shoot the gun, just rememer the gun delay and being trigger happy can be detrimental to your allies health.

My problem has never been /WHM itself, just how its used, which is almost always completely nonsensically when it comes to CORs. If you want to save money by not using bullets, look cool in a pirate get up and cure people, play WHM and do a .dat mod. Much easier and saves the rest of us CORs the embarassment of having you around.

But I know you wanted to go /RNG, I'm just ranting. Seriously though, I've been asked twice to sub WHM on COR in the time I've played it. I'm glad I levelled it up on Titan, everyone accepted /RNG as the way to go there, in part due to the fact that Darus of Titan did the initial pioneering of /RNG. Levelled it to 75 in less than two weeks, that sick bastard. Too bad he didn't stick with it to the end, he merits with /NIN to melee, dual weild with no joytoy. /facepalm

Side note, I should get back on track with updating the guide soon. I had a near complete draft going two months ago and decided to take a 1-month break from FFXI, so I couldn't run my tests for data and such and then when my PC came back and I started my tests, the PC shorted out and I lost all my work. It was demoralizing.

So back to square one on updating the guide... but I've had some good ideas for it, so this third draft should end up a lot better.

More testing on LS, Gun/Bullet D definitely has no effect. Dark Staff does work, I didn't get to test Anrin Obi though. I'm hesitant to carry lower level bullets for it simply because I wouldn't want to forget to switch back to Steel for QD, I know I was already bad at that when I carried Corsair Bullets around consistently.

I'm going to try and figure out the fTP/AGI/possible INT mod info tonight or tomorrow.

Carrying around more than one kind of bullet on COR is a hassle given you're probably already stuffing your inventory with Light, Dark, Ice and Earth Cards at minimum. Plus COR is way, way more macro-heavy than RNG is, I wouldn't have the space to add different bullets.

Of course, now that we have level sync, I definately should consider stocking some Bullets and Iron Bullets, because I'll be damned if I'm peeling off steels for a low leve PT.

Kitten isn't the mage of the two characters, I really only swipe one of Foobar's staves if I must /WHM and there's a specific elemental weakness to go after.

As for "Augments Quick Draw" on Death Penalty, I'm just guessing here, but probably has something to do with tweaking the damage formula on Quick Draw. We'll only know when someone manages to fully unlock the Mythic Weapon.

Eventually, I'm going have to suck it up and level whm to atleast 37 for personal uses, maybe 41/42 to make some quick gil being a tele-whore. But the whole point of me leveling Cor was to go /Rng or /Nin on occasion, and support my party and be able to shoot off a few rounds and have them land and do some damage. I appreciate the tips/heads up though kitten^^

They went out of their way to specify that 'Enhances xxx' means making whatever it currently does stronger, while 'Augments xxx' means adding something different to it, so I'm curious. I was leaning towards adding debuff effects to QD itself, but it'll be a bit before anyone knows.

Also, COR sidestory: When doing WS points for Rana/Leaden me and LS leader popped Despot, we trio'd it with me QD kiting and 2 SAM/DNC's as healers, lol.

My linkshell and I did Dienamis - X last night, and at the last minute, a Commodore Tricorne dropped. Irony of ironies, it seems my LS wants to make me one of their main Paladins, however (I attribute that to my ability to find a way to survive Sarameya while the other 3 tanks died off, the Ninja after a while, and the other two Paladins following rather swiftly ). I didn't get to lot on it, mainly cuz they were trying to get me a Surcoat, but meh, at least it dropped, and it went to a Corsair (from the looks of it, he's now stuck as a COR. We'll see...).

All in all, was rather fun tanking all that last night. Looking forward to more opportunities for Commodore set.

Endgame shells are strange you get something they want you to have and then you're "stuck" as that job. Hate that because if forces me to be political in my job approach and make it so I get "stuck" as a job I wanted be anyway, but its still at the expense of most other things I'll have levelled.

Least my RNG gets some love, though I'll usually be expected to go COR to most things. I know DNC, BST and THF will never get the same chances >.> Thankfully, I've all but smothered my BRD to death by having SCH and RDM levelled and my merits are invested on them, not BRD.

I got to play with Leaden Salute in Dynamis-Sandy last night, first time I've ever been the BLM party COR. Good news was that the Wizard's gave me a nice boost, bad news is Evoker's + Ballad made it impossible to get my Uggy Pendant active most times. It's still a nice WS for statues, did 4-500, could have done more if I used Pluto's + Anrin Obi full time but was TPing w/ Joyeuse off normal mobs. With TP and 2 QD charges I'm fairly certain I could 3-shot a normal statue using LS.

Downside is I use MAcc over AGI where I can normally and LS is a big AGI WS, so I kinda gimped myself there. Downerside is AF2 legs dropped near the end of the run, I lotted a 6 and lost to a 67. Good news is I got to go COR to something and made our other CORs look kinda silly b/c I tore the place up(I don't get to COR much and our gimp one seemed kinda smug about his so I had to represent and whatnot), but the people who were doing what I normally do sucked it up so I can't go COR to anything again for awhile.

Zha'Go's Barbut - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki

Looks like some information is finally being put together on Zha'Go's Barbut. Comes from a Beadeaux (S) BCNM called The Buried God. As suspected, most likely linked to the new Beastmen Stronghold NMs added in the update. Keep checking back on that link, I'm sure more will be added as the day goes forward.

Personally, I want this more for my RNG than my COR, though it will be nice for the times COR may wish to stay out of AoE and DD purely with ranged. Gives me another reason to /RNG at high level if so.

All 8 NM "chests" required to be traded in for eight key items to do this fight. A full alliance may enter the BCNM to fight the past versions of the beastmen gods, in this case, Za'Dha Adamantking.

Murderer drops from Cogtooth Skagnogg in La Vaule (S), one of the 8 NMs you need to pick off there to work your way to a Supremacy Earring, which will trigger the set effect of Murderer.

I would be interested to see the amounts of the set bonus, I heard the MAB wasn't much but the STR/RAtk was good, but not sure how confirmed that was.
