Dagger or sword?
Is there any endgame equipment for Corsair's that requires sword or dagger?

How many weapons are actually COR only?

If they add more AF gear do you think it will have sword or dagger?

I don't want to level up the wrong weapon skill x.x

As far as I know, the only COR-specific melee weapon is the Corsair's Scimitar(Lv. 69 D38 Dly224 Addt'l Effect: Paralyze Besieged: Ratk +10 Atk+10).

As far as which to use, I'd recommend leveling both skills, but you'll probably get more mileage out of Dagger, which caps at a slightly higher skill level than Sword does. Most CORs use Archer's Knife or Trailer's Kukri(61+) for the Racc boost. There are a couple of decent Swords you can use, Jr. Msk. Tuck at level 43, and Phantom Fleuret at 65(although this is hard to get, still going for 3m on Ramuh). Some 70+ CORs also use Joyeuse for TP gain since they have a bit more Racc built up from other gear.

The main difference is a Dagger will get you more Racc, but if you melee for TP the lower damage rating of the dagger is more likely to hit an IT+ mob with high defense for 0, leading to slower TP gain, compared to a sword which will hit a bit slower, but is likely to do more damage.

I've also taken a liking to using a Fire Staff for the STR/Ratk boost, although you can't use it to melee for TP the way you can with a Dagger or Sword.

I'll give the same answer I give anyone asking this type of question: Choose both! You'll most likely use dagger more, but it never hurts to have more than one skill leveled for versatility, and in certain situations(like when you're trying to unlock Gun of Trials or Coffinmaker) you'll want to be able to use a Joyeuse for faster TP gain.

Re: Dagger or sword?
I'm in love with the Joyeuse, so I'm impartial. But Daggers definitely offer nice RAcc bonuses (Trailer's Kukri and/or the Archer's Knife come to mind.)
