it seems
Lightning crystal + cornette = 1 brass ingot (low HQ) which around 200-300 gil each
(depend on lightning crystal on yor server)
Fire sand are 750gil per on my server...assuming around 1050 each x33 bullets
(non HQ)
a pouch 99 x12 (not counting making them together) = 37.8k
Know any cheaper recipe? please post below -add later- | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-14-2007, 12:31 AM | #2 (permalink) | | FFXIWiki Team Join Date: May 2006 Location: Windurst Posts: 4,283 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 141 Thanked 1,127x in 630 Posts Gil: 18,586 Bank: 7 Total Gil: 18,592 Donate | Re: Cheaper Bullets making- here is how. To make this even remotely cheap you'd have to (1) proper crafting level to desynth (Bone and Goldsmithing at 14) and (2) hope Bastok has ranked second for conquest. Otherwise you're farming from Mandragora in Sarutabaruta for the Cornettes.
The real expense here is the Firesand. Depending on how much the Alchemy Guild in Bastok sells them for it would be cheaper to ... obtain Firesand from using Scavange. Something you do by, you know, levelling RNG. Making firesand requires 41 Alchemy and by the time you spent all that money levelling alchemy that far... you could have spent the gil towards and finished RNG as a subjob. OR
You can just buy the bullets from Olaf in Bastok Metalworks, Tsutsuroon in Nashmau, Jirokichi in Norg and Shiny Teeth in Rabao. It'll run you about 9k per 99 bullets. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-14-2007, 11:27 AM | #3 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 150 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 1 Thanked 5x in 4 Posts Gil: 2,844 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,844 Donate | Re: Cheaper Bullets making- here is how. Bastok doesn't necessary need to be ranked second. 1st also work. But this is better then buying from NPC or AH since AH never carry them. -add later- | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-14-2007, 11:35 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Fan of Murphie Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Largo, FL Posts: 1,538 Style: Light - Version 5 Thanks: 93 Thanked 269x in 160 Posts Gil: 5,647 Bank: 36,816 Total Gil: 42,463 Donate | Re: Cheaper Bullets making- here is how. If you're intent on desynthing stuff to get those Brass Ingots, I suggest Brass Rings instead of Cornettes. The jewelry store in Bastok sells them when Bastok is in 2nd or 1st (same condition as Cornettes), it's a bit cheaper than Cornettes, and you can potentially get 2 ingots out of them rather than being stuck with occasional bone chips. So far the thing that has been saving me the most gil is farming the bomb ash and making firesand myself. I usually farm in Ifrit's Cauldron, in an hour or 2 I walk out with 2-3k xp, 20k~ from popping coffers, and 2-3 stacks of ash. The alchemy guild in Bastok sells sulfur for 550~ apiece, making it around 3.2k to make a stack of firesand. I'm not sure about other servers, but on Ramuh ingots got pretty cheap recently, I've gotten to the point of just buying brass ones on AH for 10k/stack and buying iron from the smithing guild(comes out to 32.5k/stack, roughly 2k off of AH price. I do occassionally desynth for brass/iron, but when I try to desynth or synth for iron I usually over-HQ it and get steel(yes not a terrible problem I know, but it is annoying when I'm trying to get iron quickly).
Although now, some moron here on Ramuh killed the price of a stack of iron bullet pouches by 40k/stack all on his own. Pretty funny actually, he was the only person posting iron bullet pouches for about a week or two, yet kept undercutting himself on a daily basis. Now they're down to 90k for 12 pouches, it's just cheaper to buy them on AH. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-24-2007, 06:22 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 3 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 750 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 750 Donate | Re: Cheaper Bullets making- here is how. Hey Callisto!
what level and job were you when you started farming in Ifrits Caulron? I hear that place is dangerous....
I just finished leveling alchemy to 60 and im gonna take goldsmithing to 30 with the intension of HQ bullets. I hope this works. I think if I can pull this off they cost will not be that much, especially once im high enough to farm ash Last edited by einwol : 11-24-2007 at 06:27 PM.
