I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 256.MB and it's been giving me problems, When I start Windows the screen gets black then appears up again and starts messing up, or sometimes it freezes. I'm thinking I just have to updgate my drivers? but I could be wrong so I want other opinions. I run my computer on Safe mode but I can't seem to do much in Safe mode, someone please give anything they recomend I should do. Rico

You should completely remove the previous drivers and then reinstall the newest off nVidia's site.

Sorry for the double post, but I think it's due to overclocking. When the overclocking is applied, it blacks out for a second and comes back.

There could be several problems... but first please post your motherboard and processor... 1 - You havent disabled the onboard video from your motherboard 2 - You're VGA Cable isnt secure into the Video card 3 - Update to latest version of Direct X and Newst CORRECT Drivers for the video card 4 - You have a defective card, return it immediatley and get a new one or a full rebate (Those things happen, its called static electricity) hopefully when/if you post the mobo specs I can further help you goodluck!

Documentation that came with the motherboard. if you dont have that... then the only other way is to open up the case and look for the manufacturer and motherboard model.. then I can look it up from there :p

you don't need to open case if it's a brand mobo (generics don't usually work on this).. just install sisoftware sandra (tweaktown has free version of it), it can tell you basically everything on your comp, as long as it isn't a generic thing...

or you could use software...... but it might help if they look at the computer, helps to better understand what you're using (like reading the FFXI manual) but yeah software works too
