A - Seems to work fine here.
B - There has been google ads on on the forum for a very long time signed in users just never see them, only unregistered users.
Conclusion - are you sure you're logged in? Log out and log back in if the forum says you're logged in.

I have been messing with things this afternoon but nothing that should have broken the front page or inserted ads for logged in users. I'm logged in on another non-admin account right now and I'm not seeing either of these problems.
When you see that, what does your URL bar say? As in, what is the exact URL you're browsing to?

Delete cookies for ffxionline.com and quantserv.com
The URL was to ensure that you didn't end up at the front page via some malformed url string that had something trailing after the .com

As ex-QA I know how infuriating this sentence is, but I cannot reproduce the issue on my end.
Clearing cookies did not work, problem came back as soon as I logged in.

Ya, basically it seems to be a problem with the local interaction between his browser and the site, or possibly between the browser, a proxy server and the site if he's on a corporate network.
Try holding the shift key down while you hit the refresh button in the browser.
