Hi all, i have been a year without playing, and now im back and when i go to see my chocobo... she is black! but after a year, Hantileon said to me:

I am terribly sorry, but it looks like the time has come to part with your chocobo. And said that she will be transferred to one of the vana'diel chocobo society farms.

I suposse that i can call her back with the whistle, but... i have not done the whistle quest, please what can i do to have my black chocobo back?

You'll probably end up having to raise a second chocobo to do the whistle quest and get the whistle. If you kept the VCS Chocobo Registration card from the original chocobo (That the stable guy most likely gave you after you had this conversation), when you do get the whistle you'll just trade him the card and the chocobo will be registered to that whistle. Note: I have not tried this, but it should work in theory.

Yeah, i still have my VCS registration card of my black chocobo, so if i raise a new one, then make the whistle quest, and register the black one with the VCS card, i will be able to call the black one?

Then, you can change the chocobo you wanna call with your whistle just trading the npc the VCS card of the chocobo you want to register, right?

Just keep in mind - if you were gone for over a year, from before the choco was a teenager (I'm guessing, since you didn't know it's color) it probably will not have the best of stats. You might be better off to get a card from a choco of the opposite sex (black if possible) and the breed them and hope you get another black. This way you can raise it to have good stats. Just remember to check it daily and keep up with it's training so you'll get the best possible choco.

oh, you can keep him just fine, even when using him for breeding. I've got 4 birds myself- you can switch them by just giving the card to the NPC and paying the fee. So ride the one you have now (which might not go much faster than running) and breed/train a better one. If the new on comes up black as well just trade it out after it's stats are where you like them.

Yeah i think i will do that, keep my blackie and trying to find a male black to breed a new one, until i get another black, then training him.
