Feeding your chocobo question

So I took up chocobo raising and now I'm trying to determine how to get the most of the food I give it. Born from two blue chocobos, I got the blue I wanted from the endurance honeymoon plan. DreamDevil gets all the vomp carrots he could possibly want from the time he was born and I only toss in greens when I need an extra affection boost. I've been following the Racer chocobo guide when it comes to care plans.

I'm on Day 35 of raising him and his STR and END are only average. I'm just wondering if the way I'm feeding him has to do with how slowly his stats are raising. I've been feeding him one carrot at a time until he's completely full before I start our daily activities of racing and walking. This gives the pinkish colored flames when he eats. Once in a while, when I'm in a hurry, I've fed him the total amount of carrots all at once and gotten yellowish colored flames around him.

Will feeding him the total amount of carrots at once make things easier on getting his stats up or should I continue to feed them to him individually?

Re: Feeding your chocobo question

If you've been following the Racer Plan to the T, then he should be at least Impressive in both stats. That is, if you've keep his affection at S or SS.

Food helps very little, it's all about the care plans you give it.

And I don't know how you got the yellow shimmer from just carrots. That yellow means you're restoring its energy. o_O

But you can keep feeding him the total amount of carrots at once or do them one by one. It honestly doesn't matter in the slightest. Just make sure you know how many carrots correspond to your bird's different level of hunger before you start shoveling them in; you don't want to overfeed it.

It sounds like though at your stat raising rate you should start giving him Azouph Greens, and mix in a Vomp Carrot every so often. That'll get it's affection up right quick.

Re: Feeding your chocobo question

In the last 30ish days or so, I've been having to feed the stubborn brat nothing but Azouphs. First Class Strength and Better Then Average Endurance from doing alternating weeks of Carrying Packages and Delivering Messages. I need to find a better way to get him to like me, walks and watching over him just don't seem to be make him do more then tolerate me or slightly enjoy my company.
