Hey im new to the game, been playing just under a month and have decided to start clothcrafting it has been alot of fun, havent got to level 1 yet, but i made a cape ^^. Problem is i havent got anymore stuff like green cloth sarbuta cotton, grass thread etc. I would buy from the AH and not be like this but im so broke i have to sell things just to get by. Could someone send me any that they dont need, im still an amatuer and want to make it all the way. I guess i just need this starting help.

Don't pay out for all the stuff you need to craft, farm it >_>

For starters go to windy, grab a low level job and kill yagudo, you get crystals and bead necklaces at the same time: for free.

1 Wind Crystal + 1 Bead necklace = Grass thread

This caps at CC 1 I think but it'll start you off.

Farm some earth Crystals, use those 1 crystal + 3x grass thread you get grass cloth. Should take you to level 4 CC.

Then use Earth crystal + 1 thread + 2x cloth and you make a cape, caps at level 7.

And so on and so forth. You can do this making a complete profit for quite a while at low CC levels.

Or he could farm stuff that's worth more than the crafting materials and buy the crafting materials.

Unless your crafting ingredient isn't available in the quantities you plan on using straight off the AH, it doesn't make sense to farm crafting matts for less gil/hour. Farming doesn't make it free, it still takes time. It's better to spend one hour making 10k gil to buy 6k's worth of materials than to spend an hour farming 6k's worth of materials.

This is borderline begging.

If you're serious about a craft, level up a little bit and farm the materials yourself, or farm something else worthwhile that give you a decent gil base. Nobody's going to just keep sending you materials to craft.

I didnt ask anyone to keep sending me materials did i? I only asked for a starting help. But it doesnt matter, i did it on my own anyway, not because people didnt offer, i was sent loads. But they were sent right back to the people, because of people like you.

For yagudo necklaces and synthing to grass thread, I'd say you'd be better off trading the necklaces in for the quest and buying from the guild ... gil and fame for the future at the same time.
