lvl 21 WW stuck in a rut
Well i finally got up to lvl 21 thanks to the maple sugar recipie, which is by the way euber easy. Now I find myself in a hard spot because I am not sure what I should be lvling on. I am hoping to go the cheap route cause it is rare that I have over 10k at any one time. I do alot of logging at ghelsba outpost in hopes of getting elm log which sells for 4k on Rahmua server. I really need some advice on a couple of things.

1. What is a reliable recipie for lvls 21-30
2. How do i get the better logs more frequently
3. can I make gil at this lvl and if so with what item

thanks for inputs in advance

If you get any yew logs, you could synth that into lumber until 22
Use that lumber or buy some stacks and synth yew wands until 23

To get to 30, you could invest in a stack of silver arrowheads. You should be able to get a fair chunk of your gil back selling the stacks of arrows or quivering them together and selling those. Be sure to get support on these to minimize the breaks.

Alternatively, if you can get your hands on a steady flow of chestnut logs you can synth those into lumber until 28. I think this is the route I took as it only required one item with the crystal, and at the time I was able to buy a steady flow of logs and sell the stacks of lumber to break even..mileage may vary on that though.

Are you wearing a set of field armour? All but the boots improve logging results, I recommend saving up and buying the pieces if you haven't already. There may also be a connection with your results and the moon phase and elemental day. I haven't logged much, but back in the days when I would mine I noticed certain times and days yielded better results depending on the area. Also remember that the longer you are in a zone the less likely you are to obtain good items, I think is how it goes. I don't remember exactly what SE changed along those lines a long while back, or if that's still in effect. I think I remember it effecting my mining results once upon a time. *shrug*

This really depends on the economy of your server and how clever/quick you are. Back when I took WW to 60 quickly, I started out with about 90k to my name and ended up with about 800k when it was all said and done. Check the prices of all the AH, not just Jeuno/Whitegate..sometimes you can sell an item for 1-5k more in a city than in Whitegate or vise versa. Of course, this was back when prices were rampantly crazy so I wouldn't expect to come out with a profit like that anymore, but I'd figure you could come close to breaking even while leveling it up.

If you're purely looking to make some gil at this level, buy up a bunch of cheap arrowwood logs and synth them into lumber and sell those stacks. If you're quick when a guild opens you can buy the logs for cheap. Also try to see if you can profit off making maple lumber stacks.

Hope this helps at least slightly

Yew Lumber/Wands is a very, very bad idea. Horrible loss, crappy skillups, and clogs invintory.

Chestnut Lumber is a very, very good idea. It sells for a decent price, easy to make, and best of all, unlimited supply of materials. If you need a steady flow, just head to the nation 1st in conquest. Their Airship Vendors have an unlimited supply of Chestnut Logs.

NO NO NO NO NO. Field Armor, in no way, shape, or form, gives you better items from logging, its one, and only effect, is reducing the % chance of a broken hatchet. It does not effect logs, it does not effect how long the logging point is there, nothing else. Any better logging results is purely placebo. The same goes for Mining and Harvesting.

At this point in time, Arrowwood is only profitable if you have Lumberjack. IF you do have Lumberjack though, it works very well. Maple Lumber, now your just wasting resources. Make Maple Sugar instead and sell it in Windurst or Jeuno. Excellent profits.

Less hatchets to buy is better results, yes? Trying to save money in the long run, I still recommend buying those three pieces. And if you feel like it's giving you better results, what's the harm in that? It'll make the tedious activity slightly more enjoyable.

Re: lvl 21 WW stuck in a rut
First Iwanna say thanks to you guys for the info. As far as the feild gear i would say that I think it is a waste of gil. I have had the same stack of hatchets for over 2 months now and I am barely down to 4 now. I just got my WW to lvl 22 today and I find that yew wands are not helping anymore. Maple sugar is ok but does not sell well on rahmu server. I did happen to get an ls mate to make iron arrowheads for me and got skill ups on 4/6 arrow synths. What I really need to know is the better location to log the more expensive and harder to find logs. I don't mind ghelsba outpost but I would like to get more frequent drops of the better wood for synthing. I do pretty good getting elm logs from ghelsba but that is some times few and far between. I have never really noticed the chestnut wood at airship vendors but will make it a point to look at that tomorrow.
