I can't wait to wear my own signed harness. Harness, Spike Earrings, Spike Necklace...it'll all be signed.

But yeah, you're never 100% on synths. It seems to cap out at about a 95% success rate. I was coffer key hunting in eldieme the other day and got 4 bone chips. I synthed them into bone hairpins (level 1 synth) and botched twice, and hq'ed twice.

/shrug, just the way it goes.

I've been doing missions, quests, leveling a bunch of jobs and spent almost all my money on gear upgrades. I'll be back to bonecrafting in a couple weeks, just need to make bone patas for 1.3 more skill, and then I'm going to make tiger fangs (fire crystal + 2 black tiger fangs + scorpion shell + carbon fiber) from 68 to 70. Plan is to stop at 70 and work on amassing 170k in guild points so I can get my glasses and my apron, then I'll take the cap test and continue on from there. I've already got about 8 stacks of black tiger fangs and 15 stacks of fire crystals on mules. Once I get the gear and uncap, I'll probably do tiger fangs until 78.

I've got a mule that is a 20 MNK / 10 THF, so I'm going to take up leathercraft as the main craft on that guy. And I'll stop at 50 this time, and do the guild point stuff until I have 170k.

Xxxxx are XXk apiece on fairy (or they were until one guy started overpaying.......).

2 Xxxxx + 2 bone chips + 2 wind crystals = 12 handfuls of Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxxx. = XX,XXX gil, and it sells instantly in sandy.

I found a skillup synth where I don't lose money on each synth. I don't even break even on each synth. I make $X,000 gil on every skillup synth I do. Every other craft: Suck it.

So bonecraft has stalled for me at XX because I don't want to raise my skill on anything else while I can still make xxxxxxxxxx and get free skillpoints for doing so. Unfortunately, as the price seems to keep climbing because of a few greedy asses that want to ruin their own profits, I'm thinking about moving on. So how bad are bone patas?

Also, I got leathercraft to 32 or so. It is kind of fun killing battering rams and processing all the drops into useful materials on the spot.

95.2 bonecraft now... stopped kind of cuz hq pugil scales kind of hard to come by and ive been leveling ranger..... If you've leveled rng you know how poor you can get. Lv71 rng atm and still going. I may continue bone after rng is 75 but I dunno yet.

Also have made 3 scorp harness+1's now, tobad they weren't mine but 1mil for each one wasn't to bad. Getting leather 60 seems to of helped with HQ's.

I'm 69.2 now, and just amassing guild points. I'll do another skill up run once I have more scorpion shells, but once again I'm kind of broke and need to save up for a new sword for my PLD. My WAR is set though. So far at 34k out of the 170k I'm trying to get, and once I hit 170k I might do a contract with leathercraft guild to get the gloves for leather +1.

One question about the scorpion harnass. Should I bother even attempting to synth one at 69.2? Or should I wait till I'm about 75+ in bonecraft to try? I'm actually really nervous about trying to synth one, and I don't really think an HQ is something I should be thinking about right now.

I'd probably get to the low-70's to minimize the risk. And when I make my harness (someday...*sniff*), I definitely won't be shooting for a hq. HQ means 0% moon, Darksday, which means greater chance of botching as well. I'll be crafting this at 100% lightsday or Earthday just praying that nothing goes wrong.

But now, I have a question for you guys:

I'm at 61 bonecraft, (35 leather) and the conventional wisdom for the next stretch seems to be Bona Patas from 61-68, then Tigerfangs from 68-78 (huge gap).

Anyhow, Patas are costing me 4k+crystal per synth, and I find it very hard adjusting back to losing 2.5k per synth. I know this makes me a crafting lightweight (a fact my goldsmithing buddy never fails to point out), but STILL, any alternative synths you could recommend would be much appreciated.

I actually did Scorpion Masks (Earth Crystal + Ram Leather + Scorpion Shell) from 61 to 64, then Bone Patas from 64 to 68. Make sure you sell the Bone Patas at the Tenshodo HQ in Jeuno, there is a guild shop that pays out considerably more than other NPC's. Probably the same deal in Norg, but I wasn't running off to Norg after every skill up grind I did.

I've done roughly 60 tiger fang synths for 1.2 skill up, paying attention to day, direction and moon; even though people swear this is the best skill up option, I think it's a waste of money right now, but then again it looks like it's the cheapest option.

I got my glasses yesterday, and I've got 4535 GP out of the 100000 I need to get my apron. Once I get that, I'll start skilling up again. Still haven't taken the test to go past 70, so I don't get stuck with super expensive GP items every few days. I still think my character looks like a creepy old guy with the glasses on :sweat:

Congrats on the sunglasses! I'm not really interested in the apron, so I haven't been farming up guildpoints lately. I keep hoping that they'll expand the benefits of bone purification, but as of now, I just don't really see much to start hoarding GP's for.

Hehe, that was as a 59WAR/29NIN. I'm 60WAR/30NIN now... and a 65PLD/32WAR. I should post a photo of my PLD stats.

Have a question to all Scoprion Harness Maker. How much do you guys usually wants for a synthese for regular Scorpion Harness and how much for a Scorpion Harness +1 ?

And how much it goes for on your server ?
