Well, I know this is just plain...wrong...but I've Main healed as BLM/WHM - was tricked into it but eh, fighting Colabri, hey BLM cant be picky anymore - I guess I was just happy for the XP, actually got a whole level too!!

As For BLU/WHM I can see it bein a good Main healer post 58, and actually getting some melee in while your main healing...not a bad deal!!

I actually had an Elvaan BLU/WHM offer to main heal once when I was putting a party together...@_@! I accepted because I was close to leveling, and he did an amazing job for an Elvaan >_> Not to mention BLU's awesome MP pool, his good MND, and Magic Fruit, it wasn't a problem at all. It was really a fun party too, and I'd have to add my agreement that BLU/WHM can be, and is a great main healer if you give them the chance :D

Well, thats good to hear guys. Due to my love for healing/supporting/dd/everything else, im going to give this a go. I will have to take my new charchters whm to 37 then go unlock blu and have some fun. ;D
Probley two or three weeks before i get whm to 37 so I better get started. Thanks for the info and everything, also I hope blu/whm will role well as a support/back-up healer/dd in some situations, which im sure it will. Time for me to go now and head to the role of blu main healing fun ;o
Also, do blu have staff skill? And also does light staff affect amount healed from the blu healing spells?

Light staff does work for blu curing spells, as does Divine Seal, but no we have no staff melee skill.

Also although I don't think it's been officially announced, word is we're getting two new cure spells in the next update, probably at least one of them will serve to fill that gap between Healing Breeze and Magic Fruit. I don't think this will force blu into a healing role, but it does sound like it will make us even more flexible in parties.

I very much prefer being a DD as /thf, but I've main healed in a few parties, as well as on missions such as the aern fights for CoP 8-1, and it was a fun change of pace. I also had enough mp left over to do enfeebles and some random damage spells too. I hated leveling whm to 37 but as blu healing is more fun for some reason.

I may stick with whm for a while and give blu/whm a go later. I need to really give whm a shot and have some fun some time. Healing, buffing, and ownage with a staff or wand is always fun so who knows.

I Have personally done evrything as a BLU. I helped main heal with a RDM at level 66. I have main tanked as BLU/WAR at level 58. The list goes on.

Back to topic. BLU/WHM is good at ANY level, not just 58+. I have healed quite a few parties 50 and below, and done a fine job at it. Make sure, though, you purchase a Light staff. Divine Seal+DS never hurts, especially 58+ where magic fruit can do 700-1k HP. Sweet deal.

Also note that BLU got another weapon in the healing arsenal from this latest update: Level 30 Wild Carrot, which is a blue magic mimic of Cure III in the same vein that Magic Fruit does for Cure IV.

EDIT: There's also the new level 75 spell Exuviation, which is a self-only Erase + Cure IIish effect.

As a galka, I've been having a lot of fun playing main healer w/ BLU/WHM. Just can't wait for 64 so I have Erase. Wild Carrot is great too, it's a lower MP cost Cure III. Although the usual group I have been exping with is almost all /NIN (NIN, WAR, RNG and a DRG/WAR), it is pretty easy to keep on top of things. Most fights I just do a series of debuffs at the start, and then just watch their HP and remove any ailments.
