Re: Smithing moneymakers
I have yet to find any good profit for lvl 67 smithing (which is what I'm at). There IS the desynth, but they're not exactly reliable. The other thing I find is HQing items. Again, not reliable. It seems anything I make that doesn't HQ is a loss...

Re: Smithing moneymakers
Well for a low lvl crafter who wants to make a little bit of gil, just make ingots, you can buy materials from the guild for ultra cheap, and the ingots will go for more then the cyrstals, not an outstanding profit, but you just about double your money. Copper ingots, bronze ingots...... Well thats just as far as i got with ingots , but on my server they sell for 10-12 k a stack, and fire crystals are usually 5 k.

Learning > Intelligence > Experience. Weak minds are subject to experience before realization. Inteligent minds understand quickly with minimal experience. Learned minds excersise knowledge gained from study, and do not require experience to reach realization. Which is your claim?

Re: Smithing moneymakers
Consumables is the way to make money for smithing.

Yes armour does sell, but you can only list 7items. Id rather make 7 stacks of ingots/sheets/ninja tools and sell them on.

Generally i mine for ore, or desynth for darksteel. Its unreliable yes, but its good money. Its just a matter of finding synths that sell.

Nearly all synths that you dont HQ will be a loss, Generally i look for level 30-40 synths and see what HQ stuff sells when i feel the need to make armour. But consumables is the main market. Now if only i can find someone wanting adaman sheets i could start skilling up again.

Re: Smithing moneymakers
is the demand for ingot/sheet usually high? I'm taking up smithing right now and desynthing darksteel from paldron is one of the few money makers I can see. Do people use this a lot?

I'm not sure if people do this alot, but the darksteel I get from mining usually sells pretty fast in Sandy.

Re: Smithing moneymakers
regarding desynthing pauldrons to ds ingots i have a couple of thoughts. i always found that providing i farmed the pauldrons i would make a killing when desynthing them. yes it is time consuming but time = money in my eyes. im not prepared to risk 10-20k on a pauldron at AH when im trying to get as much money as possible to help funding further skilling. if you want to cut costs further there is the option to go farm lightning clusters in delkfutts or wherever you like to farm them.

I found that a few of the higher level smithers will take attempts at desynthing pauldrons but as usual desynthing is anything but predictable. everyone who desynths has their own method to desynthing day/direction/moon etc as do I.

As regards demand for iron, there is always demand for it (on my server anyway). it is a founding ingredient for many synths. hell, im using iron ingots to skill with kari arrowheads (caps at 79). sheets can be used to synth nodowa for skill or even made into scales which are used in a particular ninja tool synth. iron can be bought from craft guilds for 675g and once you hit some of the HQ tiers can be made into another ingot. obviously it is easily mined and in my earlier days i always found it good to mine in zeruhn for it.

Hope this helps! drop me a pm if you have any other questions. i may be able to answer!

Good luck!

some sad facts in Titan. There is 1 galka monk, name Warrior, LS less and always /anon. We all think he's a gilseller.... he farms antican paldron in eastern althepa desert NON STOP FOR 6 MONTHS now.

And guess what, last night my PT was there... I saw him wearing smithing APRON omgwtfbbqlolkkbyethxxxxxx
My clothcraft mule has been farming crawlers for silk inside the Maze for the last three months for an hour or two a day. I have people call me a gil seller all of the time, until I log on to my main and send them a tell.

Re: Smithing moneymakers
Paktong ingots

cap 20

fire crystal ~500g
Kopparnickel ore ~1k
Zinc ore ~1k
Copper ore ~20g from vendor

total 2540 gil
sells for 10000 gil

Only part that is hard is the general scarcity of kopparnikel ore. It will be sold from a vendor if windy controlls movopolos (aka when hell freezes over).
