i have started reading about the maat fights
i will soon be LV 50 and have to do this fight (i think)

i was reading in another post that i should be changing gear like elemental staffs for the AM

but i also read that i should have +int gear
now @ LV i already have +25 to int including my +5 wand

what is more important higher INT or pluses to elemental skill

I'm sorry I can't give you the exact answer. But try to wiki it first and see if you find anything to help you there.

You need to do this fight at 66-70. I would recommend waiting until 70 since this is your first job to 75. As far as gear goes though, just wear whatever nuking gear you usually use at the level and whatever elemental staves you need for the elements you're casting.

But in any case, once you hit 51, you can sell your int wand. Elemental staves are what you'll be using al the way to 75.

This depends on what you're fighting. While leveling up and probably low-manning, elemental skill is much much more important because well, you need to cap your elemental skill while leveling and resists are very bad while leveling blm.

At 75 though, it usually depends on what you're fighting. For high level mobs, elemental skill is more important. For ordinary mobs, you can stack more int on.

Elemental Skill has nothing to do with damage, it's for resists like Mog said. MAB > INT for comparable amounts at high levels (this isn't true at low levels) when it comes to damage. Elemental Skill is arguably more important than either if resists are an issue.

thanks for the info... i thought i had to fight him at 50 to break the lev cap... am i wrong?? i read it was every 5 lv after hitting 50...

also i will have to learn equipment swap macros to switch out my staffs to there emeental magic lol but im sure thats easy to find online

It's pretty simple, for something like casting thunder II, you'd do:

/ma "Thunder II" <t>
/equip Main "Thunder Staff"

and be sure to title your macro button with Thu2 or something that you can recognize. All you have to do is pull up the palette and press the button and the macro should go off.

Thanks for the link unfortunately i am at work and i can not look at any other site that deals with this game... ill try to check that out when i get home... is limit break the same as level cap breaks??

as for the macro ... 1st Thank you it will help... 2nd : so the equipment line goes after the casting line... i would of done it the other way around ... im glad you listed it for me

It doesn't have to. You could reorder them and not really notice a difference.
