| I.T. Analyst | Enfeebling Magic question...
I'm not capped in Enfeebilng Magic yet (206/230), but I was curious if you think I'll be able to effectively solo Ebony Puddings with that level as blm/rdm. I'm trying to camp for a Spider Torque but the drop rate sucks. I know I have to cap it, but do you BLMs generally macro in enfeebling skill gear when landing Gravity and things of that nature?

Yes, always. BLM has a ... C? ... in enfeebling, so you want as much skill as you can get. A lot of mobs are highly resistant to enfeebles. Sleeping mobs in Dynamis it's a MUST to have some enfeebling gear, and you should also have enfeebling merits. On puddings, really, you should only need Gravity and maybe Bind. They are highly resistant to Sleep spells regardless of your gear. Be sure to use the appropriate staff (Wind/Auster's for Gravity, Ice/Aquillo's for Bind, etc.) which I'm sure you already knew, but it makes a huge difference. Gravity didn't resist very often on puddings if I remember correctly, though I also had capped enfeebling merits before I even leveled BLM. I'd say you should probably be fine, just remember there's a zone not far from that camp and use it if things go wrong. And bring a Reraise item, even with max gear resists happen which can and does lead to deaths. It's just the way soloing BLM is. Fairly easy to get/inexpensive enfeebling gear you can use is Igqira Tiara and AF1 body. Those are a small boost to your skill, but every little bit helps. Stack some Macc if you have it, and probably INT elsewhere to make up where you don't have enfeebling gear. I'd list my setup but most of the gear is not that easy to get so it wouldn't really be that helpful methinks.

Puddings are also naturally slow, so even if Gravity doesn't stick sometimes, you can usually get good distance on them.

thanks all, hoping that I can stick Gravity 3/4 times on them and skill up while getting experience/merits. and yea, they're pretty slow so you can outrun them to Halvung without a problem

You need to cap enfeeb asap and get and 20+ in gear (wiz. body + igqira head) to reliably land sleep/grav/bind on puddings. I have 8/8 merits in enfeeb with +45 in gear which puts me at 291 skill and still resist from time to time. Edit: By looking at the merits you have in your sig you should stop meriting potency and do elemental skill first. It's better to be consistant then hit harder and resist alot.

You can farm enough gil to buy Spider Torque faster than you'll get it off of Dune Widow, then eventually you can save more and cash in Spider + gil for an Enfeebling Torque. Anywhere you can't get/afford Enfeebling skill stick in MAcc > INT > Haste/FastCast for Bind/Grav.
