Black Cloak What is better for healing? Errant gives +5 hMP/tick, while Black Cloak gives +1 MP/tick Refresh. Does the REfresh effect add up enough to make it better for healing? is it the same? | Originally Posted by Ellipses | | Really, it's just like pretty much every question about this game that begins with "Why." Black Cloak Auto refresh is 1 mp every 3 seconds which adds up to 20 mp a minute. +5 hMP is +5 hp every 10 seconds while resting which adds up to 30 mp a minute. If you're kneeling, the best thing to do is keep the black cloak on for the first two auto refresh ticks and then swap in the houpplande to be active on all your rest ticks. If 2 mp isn't worth that much attention to you, just rest with the houpplande. - | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-09-2007, 12:43 AM | #3 (permalink) | | <3 Valkurm Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: Florida Posts: 965 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 59 Thanked 24x in 16 Posts Gil: 10,693 Bank: 9,009 Total Gil: 19,702 Donate | Re: Errant Houpplande v.s. Black Cloak You can keep switching between them just before and just after every /heal tick, too. Tedious though. Black Cloak I've actually timed this out on BLM and WHM, and Errant Houp is 1MP/tic faster when resting. It's not too much of a difference so go with it if you want to be as frugal as possible.
Personally, I sold my Black Cloak 'cuz I needed the money, and because I'm able to get more INT and MAB from using BLM Hat+1 and Igqira Weskit/Errant Houp.. Maybe someday I'll get a Sorcerer's Coat. Black Cloak For me, I use the Wizard's Coat +1 while resting (equivalent to the houppelande) and the sorcerer's coat for walking around. I notice that the longer I heal, the more beneficial the wizard's coat is than the sorcerer's coat. However, if it's only for a few ticks, I guess the refresh would be greater. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-10-2007, 08:59 AM | #6 (permalink) | | <3 Valkurm Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: Florida Posts: 965 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 59 Thanked 24x in 16 Posts Gil: 10,693 Bank: 9,009 Total Gil: 19,702 Donate | Re: Errant Houpplande v.s. Black Cloak While you do recover more MP with each tick that passes, I don't think the bonus from equipment also gets stronger with each tick. That is, unless the Wizard's Coat +1 is special in that way. There's no difference in the Wizard's Coat +1 and Houppelande in terms of healing. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-10-2007, 01:14 PM | #8 (permalink) | | Can't You Read?
