When does the manaburning fun start?
Currently I am a 68 BLM and 11k TNL to 29 and I am starting to see increacingly large numbers of "XXXburn only plz" comments when I am making my own party or invited into other parties that are starting to be created. Occasionally I'll get a PLD, WHM an DRG in a party but never anyone else. I ask a RDM or BRD, and it's TP or Manaburn Only. Monk? Fistburn in KRT only. I tried soloing but I'm not getting that much luck on Quiqirns anymore and I'm still to low for puddings... so when can I expect to see manaburn invites start? 69 when I get Blizzaga II? 70?

You can manaburn at any level past 54, you just have to know what you can fight.

All manaburning requires is elemental staves + AF1 gloves. You need accurate, low-resistance nukes. I've done a party as low as 55, manaburning crabs in Cape Teriggan. Things get easier from there, as nukes get stronger and more efficient.

Re: When does the manaburning fun start?
Date Eruca's are a popular manaburn site from levels 65-68.

Past that, nothing else comes to mind except Walourma princes and puddings.

You'll notice that when you hit 75, you will rarely, if ever get invited into a regular party. 75 is where manaburns and tp-burns split off and do their own thing. The only way I've gotten xp/merits is through duoing and manaburning.

Using what for those? I manaburned on those from 61 to 64 so far with AMs (ES+Sleep order as well. Partied with about total of 15 different blms (didn't keep count) at that range & seemed like ~10 had their enfeebling still at 100-150 range. Mine is 190 atm, so 8 levels from cap. Shouldn't be too hard to cap it if required by either Dia spamming @ Besieged or at some EM-VT worms (silence first of course)), so I do have a feeling past 65 one is going to use something else, otherwise they aren't really worth of the time.

Forgot to mention that. You're probably right. I started partying there when I was 65ish, so I don't know how good they are pre-65. Past level 67, however, the only way I got any decent xp off of them is by roaming around with a manaburn party. Even then, killing tough/very tough mobs was better than getting no xp at all, I suppose.

Um, never? Manaburn parties have been some of the most boring EXP I've ever got.

Maybe it's just me.

Sleep nuking is boring, which is a very common manaburn setup.

Constantly throwing every tier IV you have at a mob while keeping the mob gravitied and roaming is as exciting as it gets for me as a blm.

Manaburn parties don't really sleepnuke. You just nuke stuff down so fast that it doesn't have a chance to hit you. At most you'll Stun it once.

It's sort of like watching an American football game. A few seconds of action separated by a lot of waiting... but it's still very effective at gaining XP.

Re: When does the manaburning fun start?
I got into this burn party where we'd pull 8-9 wamora insects and a few flying ones all at once. Sleepga them, time out nukes, sleepga again, time next nuke.

It's pretty fun at first but also got sleepy after an hour D:

transform a yellow spot into the sun.

It's not just you. I hate Manaburns. I did my first one at Lv.50, gained a ton of EXP in about a half hour, and every one I've had since then makes me wanna pull my hair out! I try my best to completely avoid them. I try to build my own parties that include an actual Skillchain in them, but that's become harder and harder these days.

For me it's the complete opposite. In regular parties, they really limit the blm's potential by not allowing me to cast a lot. It's just the same debuff, cast a damage spell, and the occasional magic burst.

However, with the pudding manaburns that I've gotten into, it's a lot more interactive. All the blms try to compare damage and outdamage each other, and ever since I've gotten my sorcerer's earring, I'm parsing pretty well for having whm subbed. I don't know about you guys, but I just love seeing a pudding's health go from full to nothing in 1 second.

Now don't get me wrong, I love seeing the big numbers and comparing my big numbers against my peers. But as a RDM, a Manaburn is just an enormous amount of work and a huge undertaking for my MP. 6 people to Refresh and pull? Not to mention the last Meripo I had that was a Manaburn didn't gain nearly as much EXP as any other Meripo would have. That was the only time I've ever wished I had Convert /recast Merits, any other time my 950MP more than serves the purpose.

ahh, thought you were blm. Yeah, I'm going to agree with you there. I wouldn't want to constantly refresh and pull for a party either. Rdm + manaburn = {No thanks}
