BLM/PUP ... Am I crazy?
How would this work out? The automaton with high level add-ins should be a good compliment to BLM DD or would the lower level of the profession completely gimp the automaton?

If you're soloing, you don't want your automaton to be waking the mob up. So I don't know... I wouldn't use any pets at all.

Re: BLM/PUP ... Am I crazy?
Would it do any good in a group? I'm mainly looking for the DD addition. Was hoping to not have to go with the blm/whm of old.

You want DD? Sub rdm. Pup has no good qualities for blm.

i don't know about /rdm adding DD. But gravity is definitely awesome for soloing blm.

Re: BLM/PUP ... Am I crazy?
BLM/RDM doesn't really see much use in XP parties until level 64, when you can cast Dispel from your RDM subjob (this is particularly useful when you have a Corsair in your party, who currently cannot Dispel enemies at all - and will only gain limited ability to do so after today's update).

As for BLM/PUP... not a good idea beyond the first 10 solo levels. After that it's not going to do much for you, especially not in an XP party, where the Automaton will fall progressively behind in damage due to level differences.

Re: BLM/PUP ... Am I crazy?
subbing rdm as opposed to whm gives you more int, which equates to more damage.

Dispel is yet another reason to sub rdm, and gravity if you want to solo.

You get less mp out of the deal, but you still keep the curative spells, so /rdm is still very beneficial to any xp party. Trust me. I knew a plethora of blms who have gotten to 75 subbing rdm alone.

Re: BLM/PUP ... Am I crazy?
/RDM does add a few extra INT over /WHM, but I always thought it was for Fast Cast that BLMs did that.

Either way, I would say /PUP is pretty much useless past Lv.10 or 12. No extra MP, I don't think there would be any real boost in INT, and the watered down nukes from the Automaton wouldn't even be worth it honestly. I'll give you credit for thinking up the combo, since I haven't seen anybody else suggest it, but that A for effort won't help you blow up things any faster. Sticking to WHM or RDM for subs will serve you much better.

Fast cast is nice to have too. I'm sure people like seeing those bigger numbers though. :p

We all like seeing bigger numbers, but the amount of INT added from RDM sub is what... 4 INT at most? That 4 INT isn't going to make ~that~ big of a difference honestly.
