Ok I am BLM58 so feel free to /slap me accross the abck of the head for not knowing this.. but I am aware the DoT spells (shock, burn etc.) have a pattern they can be used, like so I can use 3 at once.. The same goes for frost, rasp and drown.
You wanna know how to spot when they start canceling out? Take a look at the elemental wheel. Some elements are obvious. Here's the way I remember a few:
Fire melts ice. That would mean that burn cancels frost.
Water takes out fire. That would mean drown cancels burn.
Ice chills wind. So frost would cancel out choke.
