This has been partially discused in the Manaburn thread, but I want a more in-depth discussion here. Though I don't doubt that AM II will be horribly MP efficent, And due to being single-target, it will become more difficult to manaburn/solo multi-monster fights such as ODS and DM. However, if it's damage output is high enough, it may drastically reduce the effects of this update.
In Dynamisis(at 75) or any other situation where multiple BLMs help alot, we could have a bard cast Ice Elegy on a monster, one BLM cast Tornado II, then the rest follow up with Freeze II. The dual -Ice and the + Elemental Magic from Ice Staff might counter the damage resistance enough to kill the monster, or damage it enough where we can still consider out job done. | Originally Posted by Ellipses | | Really, it's just like pretty much every question about this game that begins with "Why." I really hope I'll be able to learn AM 2 at 61. Moreover, this is going to be veryyyy beneficial to exp manaburn parties. Only concern I have is mp usage. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 07-24-2006, 02:32 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Greater Vancouver, British Columbia Posts: 300 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 4 Thanked 8x in 7 Posts Gil: 4,177 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 4,177 Donate | Re: The advanced ancient magic. I seriously doubt AM2 will run into resistances, mainly because the main effect of AM2 is that it LOWERS elemental resistance on target mob. They didn't state how much, but I am sure this is a key towards deflecting the BLM "nerf" on HNM/NM for elemental resistance.
