Ok, if you've ever looked at the allakhazam posts on the moldavite earring, I think my story takes the cake.

So, I'm a 61 blm and I need the moldavite earring. I ask my 75 blm cousin for help and we head off to Labyrinth of Onzozo.

My cousin is an experienced NM hunter. His real passion is NM hunting and he's camped Mee Deggi the Punisher many times. To say the least, I have never claimed a NM in my life, so this was all new to me. We go in there, I constantly invis myself, and wait.....and wait.....and wait.....

My heart is beating the entire time. There's about 10 people there, so the pressure on me is greater. >.< Suddenly, it pops. My cousin gets the claim. :D He tells me to stay invised, which I did, mainly because I would've gotten dino and gob aggro if I uninvised.

My cousin takes it down to a quarter health. At the same time, he's getting hit pretty hard when an AM spell hit him. His mp is down to nothing and his hp is looking grim. I also noticed that he didn't cast manafont, so I stepped in and finished the mob off with Water III. (thank god I didn't get aggro).

No drop.

We basically write the tod down and come back later in the night. Next time, I get the claim. :D

No drop.

We continue to come back day after day, getting 8 straight claims on the NM and I continuously get thunder scrolls!!! We had it down to a science.

No drop X8.

The 9th time, we lost the claim to a solo blm taru. It was a close fight, but he died and my cousin snatched Mysticmaker at little health. He kills it off and:

No drop.

The 10th time takes the cake....literally. In all of the previous NM pops, it always appeared in my screen. This time, it didnt. My cousin, I, and a rdm mithra were camping it. the mithra is camping to the left of me and I'm ready for anything.

Before you know it, Mysticmaker Profbilx comes walking from the left side of my screen. I started casting stun on it, and before you know it, it was already claimed.

And guess what? She got the drop. The one fricken time we didn't get the claim, the goddamned earring drops.

Just thought I would share this with all of the blms who get angry when the moldavite earring doesn't drop, because I can assure you, your luck isn't bad as mine.

I don't understand why they made that damn earring so hard to get. That sucks about what happened to you. I haven't gotten mine yet, either. I can't even convince anyone to help me out.

Good thing is, I'll be starting an LS static for my BLM soon. If they ask why I don't have it, I'll say lets go now!

I had no idea that drop was so rare...

My Rdm bud camped that thing for about a week, and he'd been asking for help from our LS but he plays at pretty random times/time intervals, so it's difficult to set things up with him. Anyway, on the saturday at the end of the week my bud logs on late~ish (like 10pm) and he's already in Onzozo. Then, he sends me a /tell wantin' help. I mosey on down there as 65Thf/17War and go stand against the wall for 30mins. It pops, I voke, kill, drop.



My advice to Blms and anyone else who needs/wants this....bring TH2.

When I got mine, I went 1/1 and did not even know where he pops at. I seen a bunch of ppl standing around and guessed it was his spot =P Anyway, I was there not even 1/2 hour when he poped. I believe he's the same as X-I (shaman's cloak.. 1/14)

If you think 0/10 takes the cake for worst luck ever, you really need to investigate on some of the other items people raise hell to get.

Although that is pretty bad luck, it certainly doesn't win an award.

I got 1/1 and I didnt even need it >.< Guess the one time my TH2 works is the one god damn time I dont need it o.O Sucks tho.

It's not so much the fact that I'm 0/10. What really got me was how the mithra got the drop the one time we didn't claim.

I'm 2/3, mine was the first time I fought him. I claimed him over about 7 other people with dia, had a DRK/THF helping. Got the earring on my first run with only THI :D

Second time, I was helping my stepbrother get it with the rest of our LS. The THF pulls it with a ranged attack over about 10 other people (it spawned right behind me and I didn't see it). Got it on his first run too (with TH2).

Third time was for a friend from my other LS. Didn't get the drop though. D:

I'm 4/8. Went 3/3 in less than 15 hours for some friends. Got mine on the 4th try.

2 hours after his death is a 30 minute interval. Which means, he has a chance to pop from 2:00:01 after his last ToD, to 2:30:00 after his last ToD. This is when you need to be alert.

A buddy of mine was 0/58 (No, I'm not exaggerating). It got so frustrating for him, that when he was at work, a friend logged him, and I went and camped it with my buddy on his character. We went 1/1. He nearly crapped himself when he saw it in his inventory, lol.

I do feel sorry for your friend though. I would be utterly traumatized if I went 0/58 on this damned earring.

yeah ive actually had to suffer thru alot of these camping sessions for a ls mate who was around the level for the earring. sucks how even though its non sellable. its next to impossible to get, i mean its not like its bounding boots, empress pin. thats just as good as the items they replaced.

But if you want to cheer yourself up, go over to the thf boards an look up thiefs knife. lol then your attempts dont look so bad. i for one am 0-12 on them so far. there are peeps who are over 70 kills an no drops.

just dont give up an stick with it. eventually we all have a good day. =)
