Do BLMs really do that much damage?

The tank doesn't have to be a god, just a pld with flash (and cover in case you mistime/get resisted on your finisher).

BLM does as much damage as they want to, when they want to. Learning to do the right amount of damage to make the mob dead without getting yourself killed or running out of mana is key. -Enmity and +hMP are your friends too.

BLMs, out of all players, should value hate control and good tanks.

Not to say that it will allow you to overnuke,
But it'll allow you to flex your magic muscle a bit more without worring about getting your face bitten off after a strong MB.
