Just a little nitpicking here. It's -3 enmity instead of 2.

Rumour has it that the rope drops off one of the newly added level 60 cap, 60 Beastmen's Seals, 3-member, 15-minute time limit BCNMs. I have not personally seen any proof, but it appears to be logical.

It is indeed a very impressive rope, especially for Taru BLMs, who, prior to the patch, had very limited choices in belt equipment (Arachne Obi for +2 INT [+3 for HQ] or Steppe Rope for +30 MP). It is debatable whether the 1 more point of INT and -3 enmity on the Penitent's Rope is more useful than the MP bonuses that each of the non-Taru lv70 RSE ropes gives. Regardless, it is still a very decent piece of equipment, particular on HNM/god fights where hate becomes an issue.

I bought one of these from the AH (on Quetz) for 1.5 million. But considering the number that has been put up on sale (4 as of time of writing), I would not be surprised to see a fall in the value of this item.

Drops off either in Horlais' "Shots in the Dark" or Balga's "Wild Wild Whiskers"

The above poster is correct, both of them are BCNMs for 3.

The question now is, is Hume RSE belt better than that? >.< Hume RSE is like 45 MP, and 4 INT, but that is 5 INT and -3 enmity. >.<

This belt is awsome and the perfect answer for Taru BLMs' crappy selection for belts. I've just been using Druid's rope for now and conidering switching to INT+2 one, but this is exactly what I'd like to have.

I would love to get this belt for my rdm and blm but can't find any information besides location of these 2 BCNMs. Can anyone tell me suggested PT and strategy. I will soon be able to go to this as a 60 blm or 60 rdm so I'm hoping one of those two jobs are able to do it.

As hume, imo this belt is still a good purchase, coupled with our RSE belt.

For xp PTs, here's one strategy you could try. If you're starting at full MP, switch to the Penitent's Rope after elemental enfeebling (should use up about 50-75MP). Our elemental enfeebles don't really build up much hate, so at least you could gain the benefits of an extra INT and Enmity-3 for the damage spells.

This belt is more of a treat for taru, in a sense. I've never seen any taru BLM on Ragnarok use a belt other than Arachne Obi, which Xtereem mentioned. The other races will have to either suffer the MP loss without RSE or switch off, as described above. Maybe this was meant to help offset the Enmity-3 lost when using Igqira Weskit over Errant Houppelande? Who knows.

In Ballista, non-taru RSE belts win for obvious reasons. The question, then, changes to which belt a non-taru BLM will prefer in a HNM scenario.

Insert interesting comment here.

When I first saw the belt, I knew I had to get it. So I asked the JP who made the first sale "(Excuse me) (Penitent's Rope) (Fight) (Where?)" "(Balga's Dais)". So I got a group together, WHM BLM PLD since its a three man BCNM. I never got rocked faster or harder. Its truely made for a NIN and WHM combo with a DD. The Torama will enfeeble the tank, and even petrify him sometimes, and will also cast Burst or ThundagaII (It seemed like he would only cast one or the other in each fight). You may think "Well if he's casting burst the PLD can easily run away," but if you do run away with the spell not being casted then the Torama will use an AoE spell that hits for 200-300 damage, which hurts a lot at 60 (HP and WHM's MP wise). I got my NIN and WHM friend and we did it, and it was still hard, as he was casting ThundagaIIs instead of burst, but we beat it, and I got my rope . As a Taru, its simply the best belt a BLM can get with the higher INT and -enmity then the Arachne Obi's weak 2 INT.
