Hey I was curious if the wind staff effected my sleep spells, I have all the elemental staves and when i was going through my spells I noticed that sleep was wind, would wind staff have an effect on sleep resists or length or is it only for nukes? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-02-2004, 10:58 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Las Vegas NV Posts: 209 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 779 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 779 Donate | The Staff will help increase the chance of putting the mob to sleep which is why RDM have one when going to fight Maat. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-02-2004, 11:26 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 341 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 765 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 765 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by Akiro The Staff will help increase the chance of putting the mob to sleep which is why RDM have one when going to fight Maat. | According to Allakhazam, and my personal memory, Sleep has the Darkness Attribute not Wind. http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/spelll...ml?job=blkmage
Where did you hear Wind Staff affected sleep? There is no knowledge without experience.

From what I can tell, Dark staff effects the resist rate of sleep, not wind staff. For The Horde!!

Sleep is dark based.
And reason why RDM have wind staffs are because Gravity and Silence are wind based. 75BLM/63WHM/BST56/RDM46 -- Windurst Rank10 | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-03-2004, 01:43 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Senior Member Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Mar 2004 Posts: 1,002 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 835 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 835 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by Altruist Well strongest spell for Maat fight, not strongest spell. I'm sure by now most people understand that black dots next to spells mean it's Dark magic and is therefore affected by Dark Staff/Pluto Staff, not Wind Staff.
