BLM of any race will be fun just about all the way up to Lv.40. Once you're out of Qufim, for the most part you won't have to compete directly with another BLM. There will be only one BLM per party, and everybody else's nuking damage won't compete with you at all.

The fact that you've already obtained DRK52, your magic skills will be pretty high. So your nuking damage should be pretty good. You'll Drain more, and with cap'd Elemental Magic skill, you will nuke the hell out of mobs on Magic Bursts.

We've all admitted that a Taru BLM would be ~ideal~, but the truth is a Hume and Mithra still do a pretty darn good job. So pick up a good chunk of INT+ gear, and see how fast you can level through to Lv.30. Build a party with 2 BLMs in Valkrum and Qufim and watch how fast you fly through those zones.

multiple blm parties are awesome also. the speed at which the mobs die is insane, especially if there's an SC during that particular battle. i'm a hume blm and i'm having fun playing one. people i party with generally like having me as their blm, so i think i'm doing a pretty darn good job at it too .

taru blks compared to mithra (the next best blk as far as natural stats) have 10 more int by level 60.

thats alot of int to make up, they also have 200+ more MP then a mithran, and thats a whole lot of MP to make up.

at level 60 a hume and mithra have the same int and mp . . .

Yah any differences Hume and Mithra havnt isnt noticable, but I think at like 75 its a point off or something. Not worth crying over.

As for BLM, its the player not the race that matters. Just learn your job and dont suck and you'll be totally pwning mobs.

there's no way you can even match a taru's mp or int, if we assume that the taru isn't a complete gimp. it shouldn't matter too much though. i don't remember how much base int a taru around 70 has, but as a hume, i have 66. i think for taru, it is 78 or 80, so lets say a 14 point difference. that equals 14, 20 damage at most if you have identical equipment. that's not a huge difference when the spells you're using are dealing 500-1000+ damage.

Be what you want to be really, I am currently a Hume and really have no problems or regret not being a Taru. I do not focus on MP gear, I focus on INT gear. At higher levels you will be either refreshed by RDM or a BRD, and at lvl 68 you can buy the great BLM JSE called Black Cloak that gives you Refresh just for equiping it. At my current lvl I can make it to chain 5 with no problem.

People invite you no matter what race you are. You are a blm, seeking and people needs blm in their pt, I will invite a blm even if he is a galka. We need a blm, race never matters. Around 70s we have similar int with gear anyways. MP runout is rare, with all those HMP items, and brd or rdm or both, really you won't run out of MP that easily.

I reached 75 with no problem. In the end. This game is all about player who control the character not the player's race, gear nor anything.

I'm a Hume, ex-thf now blm.
I've got a billion gil, and I pt with 2 other hume blm's who also have a billion gil.
We exp'd 26~40 last weekend, And I can think of about 3 times where if I was a taru I would have been dead ^^. As a Hume I feel safer overnuking in exp parties- I'm not scared to take a few hits here and there
