Most powerful BLK?

I am really rather tired of this discussion... It is a bit over done, and far too often the people that are replying have absolutely no idea what the hell they are talking about...

First, if you are thinking about /smn /rdm /whm it all depends on what your main goal as a player is... If you are a blm and you believe that your only goal is to blow shit up... Then by all means... Choose what best helps with that... If you believe that you main goal is to be a vital asset to your party and be ready to heal if need be... Fine go with that...

Depending on what you want to do, also it depends on what lvl we are refering to... There is not one person alive that can explain to me a good reason to choose anything over /rdm at lvl 75... It is just way too powerful...

If you don't believe me... I have a clip of my pld tank dropping and me tanking the rest of the fight...

There are soo many different ways to play blm, and there is no one right way... I personally have smn, rdm, and whm all to 37... Why because the situation might call for any of them...


Now, the first thing you are going to have to do if you are going to choose /rdm, /smn or /whm is curtail your equipment so that, that jobs best abilities shine more...

This is a far over done debate, and I honestly think that more has been written about this than any other topic on this board.... I know for a fact I have written about it atleast 10 times.

As Tsama said, it really depends on the circumstances. BLM/RDM is really strong at 66+ as an extra Dispel (particularly if you've got something like BRD BLM WHM in the back line). For end-game activities, /RDM is also excellent for Phalanx, which can make the difference if you have to take a second hit from some big ugly monster. But /WHM is still good for Erase, and /SMN is still useful for things like Manaburn PTs.

While I find that WHM is the most practical, RDM can come in handy as a sub, if only because you get access to Dispel.

BLM/RDM is without a doubt the most powerful blm combination.

and you siad BLM/SMN for manaburn, thats not good.

Manaburn combination Pro's
BLM/SMN - MP+, Party Blink
BLM/WHM - MP+, Stoneskin, Blink, -na spells, -ra spells, Erase, Cure
BLM/RDM - INT+, Stoneskin, Blink, Phalanx, Fast Cast, Parry, Cure

Manaburn combination Con's
BLM/SMN - no stoneskin, no cure
BLM/WHM - less INT
BLM/RDM - no -na, no -ra, no erase

But what I have found is you need a mixture of these subs in a manaburn pt. I have done over 1,000,000 exp in manaburn and found that a combination of these subjobs is best.

Reg PT = BLM/WHM
unless you are trying to get record MB's /whm is the best combination for reg pt's.

Solo = BLM/RDM
by far /rdm is alot better with gravity, phlanax, dispel, fast cast, and parry.
