....?

Monsters arent your friends. You dont capture them. You dont train them. You manipulate them and kill them. You really need to get ALL the information before you start to fly off the hook and accuse wild things.

I'm not flying off the hook, nor am I accusing anything. All I'm stating is what I feel would make the job better. For me anyways, I dont know how the rest of you feel. All I wanted to do was add my 2 cents about how I felt the job should be handled, some of you may agree, some may not. After all, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, right?

ugh Josher...your a complete idiot. first, before you think about saying anything AGAIN about a Final Fantasy job, take into consideration of the jobs history in FF GAMES, NOT other MMORPGS.

Final Fantasy XI is completley different then other MMORPGS (in its own style that is). Its original, unique, different, all that makes it much better then almost all MMORPGs. But, one thing important that Square strived for in FFXI was REALISM!!

Ugh, go play Final Fantasy V and play as a Hunter or better yet as a Summoner. They play the same way as the Beast Tamer plays and it should be that way because its a FINAL FANTASY GAME. What do you do with a summon after every battle? It gets de-summoned and you have to cast it again. It is a TAD different in FFXI, but its the same concept. What do you do with a tamed beast after every battle? Re-tame it if you want or go get a different one.

Actually here is a better concept. Take the previous Final Fantasy's and picture you casting Muddle or Confuse on an enemy. That is somewhat a Beast Tamer like job thingy. Sure you don't get to CONTROL the beast, but thats exactly what it is like in FFXI. You are 'confusing' the beast in sense to help you, but it only lasts so long just like confuse/muddle does. Then you have to re-cast it, but in this sense you need to re-tame it.

Honestly, I think Beast Tamer is for the intellectual gamers and gamers that seek a challenge in games. It requires dire strategies since you are almost alone the entire game. Don't take this the wrong way Josher, but obviously you aren't a very bright person ~~;

Doesn't sound like your too smart either.

Most people can't retame monsters, because its a 5 minute skill and they go for stronger monsters. And its not a spell, its a skill that derives itself from your own stats. You can go off and get Tame II with a longer lastering effect.

...err?

...most people cant retame monsters huh? Well, if they are a well made Beast Tamer with the high CHR, they shouldnt have a extremley tough time keeping it for 5 min and when the 5 min expels, ya get it back again.

Oh, and you dont care to take attention to what i even typed out. I never said Tame was a spell, i was relating to how the Beast works with confuse and muddle.

Whats this Tame II? Beast Tamers dont have Tame II ~~; Or at least there is no skill I have seen on Eng and Jpn sites that state their is a Tame II.

lol... tame has a 15 second reuse time. Until you reach level 35 when you can use the tame release ability, your pet always aggroes on you when tame breaks, therefore usually you have your pet die right before your enemy dies, finish off the enemy, then get a new pet. Once you reach level 35, you can untame a pet and the pet automatically heals and then you can retame the pet. For 35-37 I have used only 1 pet, I find a pet equal to my level and then keep it for the entire level, just untaming it right before the enemy dies, have the pet heal automatically, and then retame.

Still trying to play way too much...

/sigh, this site and other sites around here that copy FFXIO's job active and passive abilities are getting a tad sad. (in information wise that is)

this site needs to be updated..it seems that it is extremley outdated...well, not THAT much outdated, jsut outdated

Honestly, i cant believe you'd go out of your way to insult someone and not have your facts straight. I understand you probably read wrong information from a site, but you couldn't have made yourself look anymore foolish at this point.

The skill used to tame beasts is called Charm and it has either a 10-15 sec cooldown before you can use it again. So far there is nothing similar or even close to tame II or charm II.

Next time make sure you've played as a beastmaster(or any class you try to speak with knowledge about) before you go out of your way to insult them.

Idiots like you give Americans bad repuations.

As the smarter person I will accept your stupidity, well knowing you have no clue what your talking about.

Since your only a "member" I'm going to guess you havn't played yet, which puts 0 experience on your side, and a helluva lot more on mine since I've played both Import AND Beta.

Sorry it had to turn out this way, try and read a book or two.

Ok... im trying to restrain myself from name calling, because that's just immature, but you're only digging a bigger and bigger hole for yourself.

First of all, yes, Keftenk is right, I'm in the NA beta. I have a lvl 30 war as my highest lvl character, and I am CURRENTLY playing a beastmaster which is lvl 12 (would be higher, but schools started.. so like little to no time to play).

So... now I suggest you reread my post and see I was saying that you should get facts down before you make foolish comments. Which you have apparently done again.. making assumptions. I even gave you the benefit of the doubt and said perhaps you read this information on a site and were mislead. Mentioning that you play both import AND beta only makes you look even more foolish in my eyes. Actual game experience and still have no clue about anything you speak of.

Now to repeat the original message of my first post... Make sure you have facts before you go insulting people. As you obviously haven't learned to do that yet.

I feel sorry for myself since so many idiots have decided to read and post in this thread.

If only there were more people like me that could read a thread and fully understanding it before shouting thier mouth off, then the world would be a much better place.

If I may suggest, try reading this whole thread from the beginning, then give me another post. Read it over carefully, because alot of you have misunderstood one or more of my posts.

Have fun. ;O
