Jugs on /BST

Do they come out as the level of the main job or of the BST sub? I ask because if they come out as the main job lvl it wouldn't make much sense for any DD to sub anything but BST for pure DPS purposes.

You can't use jugs as BST SJ since only BSTs can equip jugs.
