Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
I was in Jugner Forest [s] and campaign broke out, so I stopped to participate. Conqueror Bagodek rushed the group and at first I was fighting him, but then one of his underlings just had to jump me from behind, which I never take kindly to.

Neither did Keeneared Steffi, for that matter.

So I turned to fight this other orc. I cured myself then used Snarl and Steffi's now the tank. Probably not the best choice jug for a tank, but surprisingly she held her own in this fight with Reward active. I fought alongside Steffi, curing myself and rampaging at will, then Snarling right after.

It was about three minutes after a MNK and PLD joined to fight my Orc and for the life of them, they couldn't pull this Orc off the rabbit. So I'm wondering just how much enmity gets transferred.

I'm not convinced its 100% enmity transfer, but it does seem to be a good portion, because in other excusions where I used to jug pet to fend off mob aggro, Snarl didn't always save the day - but it could be argued I was just getting used to the ability at that time. I'd sometimes get hate back right away, possibly because the enmity for curing a small amount.

To be clear, Snarl is not like Provoke, it just has the recast of Provoke. Its more like vicariously Trick Attacking your pet. Snarl does generate enmity by itself, but not much unless you take some actions that you can stack into Snarl.

There was another account by a BST on the LBR forum. He related some interesting information I've yet to try out. Basically he would set himself up as a THF or /THF's trick partner and then move the enmity spike tagged on him to CourrierCarrie. The catch here was he'd do it with both Stay and Reward activated.

You can use Snarl while the pet is in a resting state, so it can be getting HP back while its getting wailed on. You just have to be engaged against the target you're generating enmity on.

There's some interesting potential for a party decoy tank here, I think.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
Wiki claims it transfers all hate from you to your pet.

So guess think of it as a super cool super jump

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
Actually its insanely high I have read. There is another thread where a player didn't have his pet ingage a mob. They then did a Rampage followed by Snarl and the pet took hate and kept it.

Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
Interesting fight in QS caves, I had a tamed beetle, my NPC and myself taking on two DC+antican hastssus. The beetle was on one, i was tanking the other with NPC.
Beetle dies with antican at 10 %, I switch, npc and I kill that one and fight remaining antican at 30%. I pop a rabbit jug , fight command , and snarl.
The antican that I had pounded on , including a rampage, immediately when after the bunny, it took all the enmity. One skill chain later with NPC and the antican was toast. Snarl is my new best friend.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
I will say that hate is very wierd in campaign. I went in as brd and I was just playing songs and getting hate. The mobs there seem to bounce hate a bunch.
I found that snarl kinda sucks when it comes to the kraken club bcnm. The pets dont seem to keep the hate even with it, however in avatar fights this came in super handy when our tank was taking to much damage.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
If it's 100% then it glitched in my last duo. Our pets died to aoe, i called CC, fight, rampage then snarl. CC had hate for 1 swing then the mob was back to me. Almost died from it. I doubt it's actually 100% because this isnt the first time i have hate bouncing back to me after rampage/snarl. It's odd though because even though that keeps happening to me, I've soloed bloodtear a few times and i can snarl then rampage without getting hate back.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
I have had such experiences aswell. Just about the same discription. It is awesome. When it works.
Maybe they meant to say, has a chance to transfer 100% of hate, chance varries when your life depends on it.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
Perhaps you only transfer your Volatile Enmity (VE) to your jug pet. This could explain why calling a pet late in a fight and using Snarl following a Rampage could still leave you with hate due to your high level of Cumulative Enmity (CE). I should be able to test this with my Lv54 BST/RDM using Sleep for CE gain and Blind for VE gain. I'll post back when I have some answers.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
the thing is...i had Cumulative Enmity when I soloed Bloodtear. I was neleing with my jug pet, even Rampaged. Then when the jug died, I used Charm to keep hate (bunch of 75s following me around) while i waited for my Call Beast timer to come back around. Then I would Call/Snarl and mele again. Thats no small amount of cumulative enmity. I never would get the hate back from that. I even used rampage again without taking back hate.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
I'm sorry to bump this from a month ago (but it was only 3-4 topics down) but I do not think Snarl transfers all emnity. On the discussion about VE and CE types of emnity, I think Charm creates CE emnity (much like how spells like Dispel, Sleep, enfeebles do).

On our last Kirin a week ago (we do Kirin all BST/SMN) we were lacking a few people so we decided to Charm-Kite Kirin around the arena while it pops the mini-gods. I was the main kiter with the most HP, I never died at all, but basically after 15~ minutes of charm kiting, we were merged with the main alliance (kiting party has 4 BSTs, 2 WHMs) and I called out my jugpet (CC, naturally) and snarled.

The other 3 kiters has died once or twice already due to mistakes, but basically I was still half kiting Kirin until my 3rd use of Snarl (some Nether Blasts from SMNs took hate but the Diablos avatars died fairly fast), which by then cleared all my emnity to my pet (pet died soon too). I disbanded to make room for another BST with Call Beast up. Pre-Snarl Patch I would literally have to die or find time to log out completely off the game to clear hate, but now Snarl eliminated all of that.

Hope that is some useful information. Just sharing what I've noticed.

Re: Snarl: What's the % of Enmity Transferred?
You're saying hate is lost to a point that you may as well have never existed? E.g. smack a T mob, snarl your hate to your pet, let your pet die, and the mob won't even come after you?

I think what she's saying is it only transfers all Cumulative Enmity.

But, essentially, yes.
